A fine fine gig, danced to close to all the songs. Glad to see it wasn't just me that had memorised the words to Europa, quite a few singing along now, excellent. Best gig of tour so far.

Just returned from manic Street Mania, work in a few hours, death.

Glad to see so many enjoyed it so much!

I had a shit journey home which dampened my mood a tad but that'll pass. Fucking astonishing gig. Cannot get over how good it was.

As soon as they started, I began to well up. I wasn't upset, but I was extremely emotional; this band were my refuge in some of the hardest times I've ever endured. When I last saw them in December 2011, I was in the throes of depression. So much has changed since I last saw them, and I've been through some trials and tribulations, but now I'm at university where I've met some wonderful people, I'm finding my way in life, a way which suits me, and I'm in a much better place than I was the last time I was graced by their Welsh presence. And it just caught me, out of nowhere, because they kicked off with a happier song and it was just like a massive FUCK YOU to my mental illness problems. I feel like I've won.

I just proper went for it more than I ever have before at a Manics gig. I threw myself into the charged performances being spat forth and lost myself in my favourite music. It's like being submerged in a purifying liquid. Nothing quite like it. I just let go of reality for a bit and I still feel incredible.

Just set myself off by writing this - memories of how bad I used to be, thoughts of how well I am now, how much I owe to the Manics as well as to my friends and family.

Not sure the melted Easter Eggs I gave to the security guard, along with the note professing my love for them, were enough to be honest. Christ, this band.

I can help with that - the security staff were complete fucking useless shitheads. All of five minutes after we got in there we had trouble with some drunk middle aged thug trying to push some of us off the barrier. He got aggressive, and started pushing one blonde woman quite roughly and grumbling that "you only got on the barrier cos you've got big tits"... (Yeah, I think maybe seven hours of queueing might have had something to do with it actually, you arsehole). Young security guy (who I'm sure I've seen being useless at other gigs in the past) comes over to see what's going on. Us: "this guy is being aggressive and violent, he's making mysoginist abusive comments and threatening us!" Young Security Guy: "if you lot don't stop complaining I'm throwing you all out". NICE. Luckily the older security guy in charge of the evening came over and sorted things out. Really though, anybody who comes out with the sort of stuff this drunk idiot was saying should be immediately kicked out and barred for life. Can't believe he got away with it. And throughout the rest of the gig I noticed a lot of the younger security guys turning away from trouble and pretending they hadn't seen anything. Quite disgraceful.

None of which alters the fact that last night was completely fucking immense zomg

There's an element of that, but really it was down to a lot of factors. The crowd being a lot more up for it. The setlist shake-up working really, really well (for instance RTF worked soooo much better last night rather than killing the pace dead). For those of us who experienced the complete abject misery of Leicester and subsequent 24 hours of worry, it was the sheer relief and release of stress upon seeing Nicky feeling a lot better.

Thought the gig was going to be partly ruined by some nutter at the front who was either massively happy, drunk, high or all three. Let's just say I've never seen anybody so happy and overwhelmed to hear EMG live.

Maybe that person was just euphoric at hearing one of their favourite songs from their favourite band in their home town!!.Too many negative whingers on this forum.
The Manics are right in the zone at the moment.Last night's gig was accomplished,energetic,exciting and the crowd responded in kind.I'd say they're right where they want to be with the Futurology change of direction.Don't think they'll want be playing Leicester in a hurry again though!Roll on Wolves,one of their fave venue's but watch out for the nutters at the front being all happy & excited.Maybe some people should sit upstairs in the circle or just wait for the next Leicester gig.

enjoyed the set last night. seemed to be a really good atmosphere in the mosh and made me wish I'd been able to get in a bit earlier.

went to the msm party afterwards and I'm feeling worse for it today, got about 4 hours kip

got 'never want again' played at retros which pleased me enormously. I cant imagine too many situations where I'd get to hear that played out.

That's terrible. I don't have trouble believing that, I've had similar things happen with train guards when you try and complain about dickheads being sexist and they just ignore you. Glad it got sorted out.
