It will be played in Europe. Hopefully the other Futurology-songs stay in the set too!

Slightly more enticed by this concept than the last 2 albums. On the first handful of listens, the verses feel a bit odd. Normally this works, but it comes across a bit forced for some reason, can't say exactly why. The chorus/solo is pretty sweet though, and the production is really good. It's solid and does a job. I'll deffo give the album a listen when it comes out, maybe it will be a pleasant surprise.

It'll be interesting to hear how the demo sounds. The chord structure doesn't appear to be one written by Nicky. Out of the four songs I've heard so far, it sounds like the title track was written by the Wire.

Had no idea what to expect having heard nothing from this album yet but I really like it. They never fail to surprise me. Left me with a big smile on my face so it's aright with me.

killer chorus but i struggle with the verses. the structure would work better if the lyrics were stronger imo.

the indie disco line is diabolical.

but the chorus is catchy and for that reason I think it'll work really well live.

Why are people taking umbrage with the Indie Disco line? it's a cool line, delivered nicely. I am more inclined to think "Curled like an animal lying on the floor" is a clunker.

The only line I don't like is the one about "never suited you". Apart from that, I can take everything else.

I suppose it'll just be the same as with any dodgy lyric, i'll eventually grow to accept it (in time)

I've been wondering this too.. and as I'm attending the gig, it's a very serious matter

No but honestly, I feel like which ever newcomer they drop I'll be gutted anyway. Maybe.. just maybe I'd let Futurology go, even tho I really want to hear Wire singing. So if they drop it, I seriously hope they'll play something else with his vocals on. And yet I sort of don't see the point in it, why do an oldie if you have a new song in that same "category" as well? So that makes me think maybe they'll drop LGTW - which is a shame too!

Of course ideal for me would be them doing all the new songs along with a full set of oldies as well. End result; a bit longer setlist. No complaints there! Even tho can't really see that happening either..

Someone's feeling a bit pessimistic today!

Yeah, LGTW would be the most likely candidate, it will still mean a 23 song set if it's the only one the drop (they played 22 songs at all the dates apart from the 2 Brixton ones on UK tour)...so that could mean LGTW being dropped alongside another song, I guess it depends on how long they are going to be making the sets on the European leg.

Considering how quickly Helsinki sold out surely the least they can do to show their appreciation is to play an extra song or two

They played 23 songs at most the other dates on the last tour and both Brixton dates got 24...a lot of the time acoustic This Is Yesterday wasn't on the paper setlist, but they played it anyway.

I disagree.

"A tiny animal curled into a quarter-circle"... it's a call-back.
