Twas my first Manics gig and it was brilliant! It was great to meet BradfieldsLoveChild and Snooky and Slightly Delayed too. Yes I was mesmerised by James and didn't want to lose my place by joining the moshers! Saying that, there wasn't much jumping about really. I hope they don't decide not to come back to Lincoln because of that. Everyone was singing along avidly instead.

well just got home and put the kettle on, i thought it was pretty ace, meet some thoroughly nice people, everybody seemed to enjoy themselves lots of singing along, but didn't seem a to be a lot of jumping around, was slightly disappointed that couldn't get my ticket back and i didn't meet the band but hey always be a next time.

Well, the sound, the atmosphere, the crowd in general and the middle of the setlist was all crap, but the Manics were ace.
Ocean Spray is probably the biggest anti-climax I've ever experienced. I actually heard people shouting "Nooooo" when they announced it.

That was an incredible gig! I can't stand Editors anymore but that gig was really intense. Especially because they were in your face, and it featured We Are Scientists in their prime.
You're not missing much at the Engine Shed. I've been to about 4 gigs there now and the sound is always shit. It's like being softly slapped with a wet flannel. I think I'll just travel to see bands in future. I'm done with the Engine Shed now, it's piss poor. It's just like being in a massive garage.

Hi Lydia, that's me! It's a bit sad isn't it? I mean, I've adored them since about 1995 and yet this was only my third time seeing them (I only live 20 minutes away from Lincoln so it was just too good to pass up). Usually health and money issues got in the way along with other responsibilities so it was kind of easier not to bother really. I have to admit that after last night I could very easily be drawn back in. They are a very special band indeed. Have to say though that it was a real treat because I don't get to do it a lot. Perhaps that was why I enjoyed it so so much! Gutted I didn't meet them either but it's probably as well because I would have just been a dribbling wreck.

They certainly turned out better than mine. Photography has never been my strong point and last night proved it!

I thought the gig was ace, slightly annoyed that nobody really got involved until 'A Design For Life'. Gutted I didn't get to meet them....grrrr. Also that woman saying they weren't giving out setlists because they don't need them....what?!

But anyway, I had a good night. James said he loved Lincoln, I got a t-shirt and a pack of postcards. I met some lovely people as well e.g slightly_delayed. I was the one with red hair! It would've been better if they had played 'Yes'.

I thought it was funny when this hysterical girl nearly had a fit when they PFAYM but then she didn't know any of the others!

Yep you were, don't worry about it. I'm quite shy with new people anyway! I was going to say hello, but I didn't want you thinking I was just a random person haha

my camera is utter shite at gigs. I've changed the settings to see if it improves ..certainly seems to take pictures faster now so we'll see.
The gig i enjoyed the most was the first brixton gig in 2007 having only seen them the once 2 yrs before so you might have a point there!

Yeah I'm gutted we didn't get the tickets, but I don't think anybody likes the security at the Engine Shed! Apparently there have been loads of complaints about them. Hopefully the Manics will come back to Lincoln

They just took the entire ticket, didn't rip off the end or anything

That's probably their plan

Ah fuck, I did see you! I walked past the queue pretty early, wondered if there was anyone off here there but I am actually quite shy... I swear, I've been 99% of who people are at gigs but not said anything for fear of the 1%. I was about 50% sure with you . Was wracking me brain trying to remember who was there.

Still, good to meet bradfieldslovechild, snooky and slightly delayed. Good gig. Oh yeah, walked past while they were doing the soundcheck and they played Australia, but not on the night. Bit of twattery from a couple of British Sea Power fans leading to a bit of a punch up. Manics were great again, loved the stuff about Nicky guilt-buying James a new guitar. I always love Faster live, but it's been sounding fucking amazing on this tour. Shame to see Sleepflower and Yes gone again though, they're probably back tonight Gutted the fuckers kept our tickets, too. Prettiest ticket of the tour!

Never been to Lincoln before though, nice little city. This made me laugh though:

Oh yes, I went down there

Great pics! Wonder if James checked out any Lincoln sausages whilst he was there? Shouldn't miss out on the local delicacies!
