I mean, what the fuck have they done to mess it up so badly?

I NEED TO LISTEN TO IT ON HEADPHONES. LOTS

They do love their fucking cowbells, don't they?

Yep. I really like it. Live version had better energy.

Hugely prefer it to Walk Me to the Bridge.

Fortunately it's not an epic fuck up like the recorded version of Everything Will Be was versus the live version from Glasto 2003.

The guitar could be a bit higher in the mix, however it's still easily my favourite song by them since Peeled Apples. It's ACE.

Didn't appreciate the changes from the live version on first listen, but I've now played it four or five times in a row, which is something I rarely if ever do with songs, so that can only be a good thing. Really enjoying this.

I take it there's still been no official word about this being released?

It's definitely grown on me after a few more listens on my commute to work this morning; I think it just took me a while to get used to the production quirks compared to the much rawer live version. It's still a real stomper of a song though. I'll have to wait until I'm home from work this evening to watch the video.

Whisper it but Alex Silva doesn't seem to be all that as a producer. The US MIX of THB pretty much rendered his original mix obsolete in my household.

Having Nina do the EGDM chorus line is a stroke of genius. The song is cool as fuck.

It certainly doesn’t have the immediacy and energy of the live version, but it is still the Best Manics song I’ve heard in a good while.

And Nina Hoss sounds great.

I love this song! It's been playing in my head all day so naturally I've been walking to its rhythm, which has been great because I've been getting everywhere 10 minutes early!

Her voice is okay but it's a bit out of tune/horribly shaky whenever she sings "Durch". That's what you get for a one take vocal!!!! Would have preferred it with James doing it as he does on the live version, or alongside her. Far too much Nina in the song for my liking.
