Who here speaks good German?

At the start of the video, when she's speaking on the phone, the subtitles say she says "Which way? Which way?" followed by "Where are you?" But it sounds like she's actually saying "Wo lang? Wo lang?" (or perhaps "Woher lang?") and "Wer sind Sie?" which my rusty German would translate as "Where long? Where long?" (huh???) and "Who are you?"

Anyone able to shed any light on that?

His mind would be awash with bad metaphors, unsustainable reactionary opinion, and one long anecdote about the time Comedy Dave put pound coins in the urinal.

In short, the man who had read everything published today, would be more stupid than a man who had read nothing."

the subtitles say who are you, not where are you and seem correct.

I'm not sure about the other word. I'll doublecheck with my girlfriend and let you know!

She says "Wo lang?". It's short for "Wo entlang?" and means along and not long. "Which way?" is correct.

So what do you thimk he'd think of the lyrics we've got so far from Futurology?

Have to admit I'm not too impressed, enjoying the music far more than lyrics so credit to James and Sean for that (assuming they've written the music for the songs we've got so far)

Wait, you can actually make out the lyrics for "Futurology"? Has it been posted as best as they can in the Wiki? Is this another meeting I've missed...

I believe Nicky at least co-wrote Futurology

No. sorry I meant from the tracks we've heard already.

For co-wrote do you mean Nicky contributed to the music and not just wrote the lyrics?

Yes, contributed to music. And I meant Futurology the song. I hope I'm clear now

Or do you think he didn't? The "chorus" sounds like taken from Zeitgeist album...which is not a compliment

That was easy, but "Europa geht durch mich" is still a mystery. These German words do not sound good in German ears. Could both mean something like "Europe flows through me" amd "Europe works because of me", I don't know. Even googling "geht durch mich" without "Europa" delivers very few results not linked to this song.

My girlfriend also said it was a very strange sentense. in czech language I would translate it as something like Europe "walks" through me or passes through me just like when you travel through a country and you get to know it. But I have no idea if this is what they meant.

Any personal friend of Nina Hoss here? he should know ;-)

I reckon that Walk Me To The Bridge is the most radio friendly song they've had since YLAINE and the catchiest.

I'm seriously in love with it right now.

But I do that with all Manics songs, each song is my favourite...until I listen to the next one.

Just watched it to check and the subtitles I saw said "who are you". I can't watch it on youtube though!

Isn't the first line of EGDM "Europe had a language problem"?! Could it be that the translation of the title is confusing on purpose???...Or is it another of The Manics happy accidents?

(Awaits saucy remarks about what kind of other "happy accidents" the boys might have had! )

Yeah, I must have been wearing the wrong pair of glasses or something... Or just getting confused with the whole "but 'wo' means 'where', not 'which'?" puzzle that was going through my head.
