And one that recognises the existence of the rest of Postcards would be good!

I would have liked to have seen a compilation of singles across their entire career, mixed up with some anomalies/rarities, like The Cure did about 100 Years ago with the cassette version of 'Concert'. That was great!
Y'know, some live cuts from way back when and maybe 'Suicide Alley' as well. They should be just as proud of their earliest stuff, as it set them on the road to greatness and a lot of it stilll holds water against the turgid s***e that gets put out by other bands today! I know we've already got LT, but I'm talking about hand-picked tracks by the band....stuff that holds happy/significant memories for them perhaps...maybe with some explanation of why in each case...that would be great!
Alternatively, just include a humungous and massively over the top re-working of 'Motown Junk' that lasts for a whole side!

The sad thing is that SATT and PFAYM will both have representation on there and JFPL will have none.

I'd have liked to have seen them do something a bit like New Order did with their "Retro" boxset. A disc of "the hits", a disc of "fan favourites", a disc of remixes and finally one of live stuff. Obviously New Order kind of lend themselves better to remixes and some of the Manics remixes are pretty dreadful so I'd replace that with demos and pre-GT stuff.

I'll be giving that one a miss.
My bet would be Holy Bible, EMG and Truth (single disc bog-standard versions with no extras), all in an ugly cardboard sleeve...no thanks.

I'll still be buying it but... we're going to get the single edit of The Everlasting aren't we?

The boxset is being released at the same time as a whole slew of others for Primal Scream, Adam and the Ants, Fugees, Blondie etc...

http://www.originalalbumclassics.co.uk/

^No listing yet, but I have a hunch that it'll include GT and GATS being as they were packaged together twice before.

Bored of singles and greatest hits. You can download them or listen to them on youtube anytime. Wish the new album was coming out sooner than 2013.

Dunno, but the 2-disc 'special edition' of FD has been cheaper than the one-disc in HMV for years (can you still get the 'standard' one-disc FD? Is it actually more collectible than the 'special edition'?)

Woop! 1st post since 2007. . .
