Is there footage of Naysmith in the DVD? How long is the DVD out of interest? I'm gutted they put this on the expensive box set version.
Had the album on twice now, I'd say the first half of the album is the strongest. Overall (although it's still very early) I'd give the album a 7 / 10. Very nice. Will play the demos later on. Only groan is the lyrics in the booklet, they're all over the shop as I was trying to sing along but half of them I couldn't find on the pages, I was confused

I prefer the second half myself.

Listening to it all the way through, in proper order with 100% quality...

This really is the album I'd been wanting the Manics to make since I got into them and learnt their back catalogue. It's just glorious.

30 minutes.

The Descent demo irritates me like nothing before. Pages 1+2? More like one line for half the song! If it had ended up like that on the album I'd have exploded with nerd rage.

I don't have time to post my detailed thoughts, but on the first ever listen it's a good album. Better than SATT. No track really jumps out as being fantastic, and from the words on here I thought SKON would be better than I thought. The track I liked the most is probably Hazelton Avenue.

I still maintain that it's desperately mediocre. I could quite happily never hear any of it ever again after this tour.

I just heard someone in newsagent saying he thought he'd ordered the cd with dvd but had received the the cd with demos version instead. Is the DVD only in the special box version though?

Well, I was busy last night, so had a late start this morning (afternoon) and awoke to discover the album had arrived. After first listens, I'm not sure I like it all that much.

Got the album today from HMV, like usual a day early,

BUT GUESS WHAT ? THE CASE IS BROKEN

And the worst thing is that the broken pieces are not even in the package, which means they packed it broken.

Gonna have to send it back

P.s the booklet on the regular edition is appalling thin.

Glad I bought the 2CD version overall, best value out of all the versions I think. I really like track 4, The Descent (sure someone mentioned about the Everlasting at the opening of it and I thought this too). It's a nice song.
Gonna play it on repeat all day
