I'll just make sure I listen to Journal a few times before I listen to this all the way through!

Glasnost should be on it as well.

I love it! Reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac's 'Albatross' in places and I've always loved that as well!

Most unexpectedly, this compilation has shot straight up the Amazon future releases chart despite the page having next to no info or even a cover image. Get shitted on, Noel.

Well it was fun while it lasted, the Manics are down to number 7 and Noel is above. Although I did see it when it was the other way round!

I don't think it should be on a singles collection either for the obvious reason, but I do sort of see the Albatross reminiscence thing with Glasnost, mostly the tone of the guitar and generally ethereal chord strokes, I don't think it's crazy to say it's a little like a sped up Albatross+lyrics.

Gorgeous song like all of Lifeblood anyway, though I think 1985, ASFDeparture, SolitudeSI and TRGhosts would have been my choices for singles over the two we got.

I think Lifeblood would have been better without singles as a more arty, less commercial endeavour.

The negative side of this would be them missing out on two number 2 singles, but on the positive we would have been spared the sight of them in those God awful Nixon masks.

1985 would've been an awesome single too.
