Bit of a crisis, can't get the album until next week.
And even if I pre-ordered it, I'd be cursing myself for spending the money on a pre-order when I needed the cold hard cash in my hands right now!
Which is dead money anyway...
So I'll be in touch.

Golden Platitudes has really started to grow on me. There is a lovely swoony quality to it.

This may just be me, but lyrically at least 6 songs remind me of "Nicky Wire's Last" from his solo album.

I've disliked albums in the past. I've hated certain tracks. This is the first time I've hated the album start to finish.

Well I'm just finishing my first proper listen now. It's by no means a bad album but it isn't them at their best. It has some nice moments, to me it sounds like the band making an album for themselves really, or one for people more their age. Which is fair enough.

I'm certainly not going to renounce my fandom (there was never a chance of that) I think after a few more listens I'll have a higher opinion of it. It's certainly not as bad as I was expecting or as bad as some people on here are saying it is.

James' NUS card for the win.

not sure what to make of the album yet, I've only heard it once, it all seemed to be very samey with only the title track standing out. Hopefully it will grow on me after a few more listens but I'm not holding my breath.

After watching the DVD making of I think there are some lost opportunities in the mixing.

Billion Balconies should have been a mother fucker, it just isn't, & that sniff is....

Does sound like there is some cracking b-sides to come, & some not so cracking b-sides. "Yes I'm fucking crap"

Agreed, it's up there with the best on the record but it could have been better.

I really want to see this DVD, I hope it appears on youtube. I just can't afford it at current, I probably shouldn't have even bought the 2 disc edition.

I just LOVE this album to fucking bits!! James`s voice just get`s better as the years roll by, Great Melodies, superb drumming and great bass lines. As when any new Manics album comes out certain people on this site like to pull it to pieces! Fair enough your entitled to your own opinion, if you only like 2 or 3 tracks then so be it, but I like every single track, it`s certainly cheered me up no end as I`ve had such a shit fucking year, and what will cheer me up even more is when Im in Glasgow next week, bring it on.

It's worth a watch as it does give some insight, but since it's not limited I would wait until it's reduced from £80.

It may even end up being on the official site like the JFPL making of.
