I think Nicky's odd stare has finally been revealed as a hypnotism device.

Ooh James looks quite slim there! I didn't see that poster up in our HMV today But there was loads of PFAYM copies! Probably a bad thing as they're all unsold haha. Couldn't find the Deluxe edition either for the life of me, had to ask the sales girl and it took her like 10 minutes to find it too. Useless! It was at the very front of the shop when you first walk in. The two of us, obviously pure simple!

The Descent (Pages 1 & 2) - Great track. This will be good for pointy shouty I reckon! JDB is chucking in some great guitar solos. Think the strings don't take over too much, nicely balanced.
Hazelton Avenue - Oooooh! Got a sort of dreamy tone to this one. Another Manics track you can dance around the room to which is fab by me! Nice tinkly bit at the end! Aaaaaaaw! Auto - Intoxication - More harder edge to this one. Reminds me of another MSP song but can't think what it is at the moment. Like that other worldly sound going on. Very Flaming Lips! Moshing and headbanging moment, woohoo! James doing some sinister sounding vocals as well. REALLY LIKE THIS!!!!!!! (Just typing what comes into my head as I listen!)

Listened to it all the way to work and all the way back-90 miles on the M6 and some of it is totally brilliant and beautiful and some I'd have happily left on the editing room floor.
The first 3 tracks are the best three in sequence on the album for me and I love Billion Balconies and Nicky's track just reminds me of Break My Heart Slowly so I love that too. I want to see the DVD and see what some of you have said abt possible changes; I like it but it hasn't blown me away like Journal did-it's been on in my car continually since it was released last year and I just rotate it with other favourites each day. Im not sure Postcards will do the same...

Why does that HMV poster refer to them as The Manic Street Preachers?

Golden Platitudes - (shangri -la? ) Awesome vocal performance James! We'll be waving our arms around to this one on the tour! Lovely!
I Think I Found It - Very pretty intro. Reminds me of a Sheryl Crow song that I like! Bit of a Spanish twang going on there. Very nice, like that one! A Billion Balconies Facing The Sun - Excellent guitar solo! The chorus goes at about 100mph, great stuff! Second guitar solo, glad James has got the amp up to 11.

I Think I Found It reminds me of Rod Stewart, I think it might just be the mandolin though.

All We Make Is Entertainment - Excellent drumming from Mr Moore! Turns into a proper rock beast this one! LIKE! LIKE! LIKE!
The Future Has Been Here 4 Ever - *cringes!* Is James doing backing vocals on this or is that someone else I can hear? Great Trumpet Sean! Nicky's voice I can take or leave. Not his best vocal I feel. Sounds like a female doing backing vocals so I doubt it is James! Yes, definitely a woman. Wonder who it is. Like the way the guitar and trumpet mix together at the end. Don't Be Evil - (run and hide Google! ) Evil sounding James! Really like this one, alot! James is showing off his guitar virtuosity on this record and why not? And finished. First impressions, a good solid record. Lyrics are typical Nicky fare but always quirky and thought provoking. I'd give it 8.5/10 on first listen. I'm confident it's a record I'll go back to often. Shall be recording it to play in my car tomorrow. Looking forward to that! Great job lads! Thank you!
