30 Year War then, it's not that good. Fantastic lyrics mind but it's a shambolic song, too much going on.

I'm liking a lot of this album overall, but it's not a classic.

Wire used the word 'post-punk'.

All the best music has the 'post' prefix!

Hey Mrs Thatcher, did you like ROOF?

And welcome to the forum. I still have doubt what my favourite song is, but I suspect the two you mention will end up in the top… 6…

It's too good!
ROOF is a great song! It's a good year to be a Manics fan coming up...first this then we've got Futurology coming up.

Hey...just a thought...

Some said JFPL was the follow up to The Holy Bible...
Then that PFAYM was the successor to Everything Must Go...
This album has been compared to TIMTTMY...
Is it safe to say Futurology might be another Know Your Enemy?! (not a bad thing, I like some of KYE- another thought- if these two albums were put together as one, it might end up as messy as KYE was).

I think it's a cracking song. I think the lyrics let it down, if anything. James is trying to cram everything in and it doesn't quite scan well in places. Musically it's great. Love the synths!!

#Postman Pat. Postman Pat.
Postman Pat and his black and white cat.
Early in the morning, just as day is dawning,
he picks up all the post bags in his van.

Postman Pat. Postman Pat.
Postman Pat and his black and white cat.
All the birds are singing,
And the day is just beginning.
Pat feels he's a really happy man.

Everybody knows his bright red van,
All his friends will smile as he waves to greet them,
Maybe, you can never be sure,
there'll be knock (knock knock)
Ring (ring ring).
Letters through your door.
(Hee Hee).

Postman Pat. Postman Pat.
Postman Pat and his black-and-white politics.
All the birds are singing,
And the day is just beginning.
Pat feels he's not really happy, man.

Everybody knows his bright red van,
All his friends will smirk as he tries to shun them,
Maybe, you can never be sure,
There'll be knock (knock knock)
Ring (ring ring).
Missed De-live-ries.
Missed De-live-ries.
(oh dear).

Postman Pat. Postman Pat.
Postman Pat and his badly neglected cat.
Sometime after midday, that is if you're lucky,
He picks up the 1st class post today.

Postman Pat. Postman Pat.
Postman Pat and his industrial action.
All the unions are picketing,
And the strike is just beginning.
Pat feels he's not really happy, man.

That would be immense. Then post-neo-modern-classical.

Just saying, I watched Postman Pat a lot, then they introduced an Asian family and I stopped.

(this may be because they started the reboot when I was about 12 but hey)

Is 3 Ways to see Despair a clear homage to "when i was 17 it was a very good year"?
