It is brilliant that he slags others off though
Come on at least it's a talking point!
I don't agree with over half the stuff he says but the man is a legend
We are clearly running out of Rock Stars thats why Nicky and the rest of the Manics are still relevant - I love 'em!

This thread's alright, but it's more just guessing who he hates though.

We need the wonderfully-organised Deets to sort you out with some bits. She'll probably point you in the right direction. Not sure if she's around right now though.

Is it? Perhaps in his 20's it was amusing, but a 40+ year old man slagging off anyone publicly, least of all musicians half his age, seems a little pathetic and a wee bit desperate. Just saying.

Maybe he's saying his opinion, not as someone (barely) famous, but as a private person?

he doesn't fight with Billy Bragg anymore, in fact there's a short interview from Q 2007 when he and James said nice things on Billy! didn't he say something nasty on My Chemical Romance? I'm pretty certain around 2005 Mickey from MCR was wearing Lifeblood t-shirt

No, Nicky said positive things about MCR and emo. Don't have citations now, sorry!

Anyone know how many copies Postcards has sold in total up to now? Good it's still selling and the extra dates should help and festival appearences.

Who do you think still manages to make an effort then?

My Chemical Romance with “The Black Parade” for certain. The look, the first video… it was a gothic version of “Sgt Pepper”. It’s a great album.
from HERE

and about Coldplay I'm sure once he said something blah blah shitty band blah blah they copy us and our uniforms from THB blah blah BUT it shows they still want to do something blah blah

It seems to be a fairly nice price everywhere now too. Album costs about the same as the single some places!

Nicky praised The Killers and even played them on the radio back in 2004, before doing an almighty U-turn.
He also said that Richey would have liked Franz Ferdinand, and then several years later destroyed them.

Any other legendary Nicky Wire opinion U-turns that spring to mind?

JDB has been doing an O-turn on Nirvana for the past twenty years.
