They've never played where I live. The nearest they've played is only about 35 miles away but costs about £30 travel and a night's accommodation. I guess in future I just shouldn't be allowed to go.

Where do you live?

Nor me....but I choose to spend my money on travelling to see them. It's not as if I have a lot of money, but I prioritise what I want to spend it on, instead of drinking every night etc.

Nah, but I'll be up clicking refresh and pressing redial with me mate. If I don't get a ticket, I've still got a holiday in Glasgow...

I thought we already had a "who lives in the smallest village" thread?

I live near Norwich, actually after I wrote the other thing I remembered they've played in Cambridge quite a few times but it's still nearly 2 hours drive from here. We're all lucky though, what about fans in countries that they never go to?

Well, they've never played where I live if you are going to be town-specific. But some folk have a lot more gigs within easy travelling distance than others. TZB, I'd say 35 miles is easy travelling distance. I drive 30 miles to work each day.

I don't believe that but I think the notion that this is a "locals only" do is a bit daft. It's just a gig.
Well said! It's a public event that just happens to be happening if Scotland. If people want to travel to see it, then why shouldn't they be allowed to. I appreciate that it must be frustrating for the Northern/Scottish fans that they do often get missed, but at the same time this is a special event which lots of fans want to be a part of.

It's the nature of any tour announcement. You can't please everyone. I'm gutted I won't be able to make this, but that's life...

I couldn't give a fuck about most of the venues I see bands in. It's the band playing inside which I care about. Yeah, it sucks if you can't make it to London for back to back nights, but as Takk said, life isn't fair. It's my choice to live in London, and it's frustrating that I can't easily get access to any rocks to go climbing, where as if I lived in Sheffield it would be easy, but you play the hand your dealt (or deal yourself).

Scotland is probably easier travelling for me, despite the fact I live nearish London. I hop on a plane from Luton (where I work) to Glasgow for similar time/money to see my brother. Then I could just get a cab to the venue instead of several changes on the tube.

I can't believe I am seriously considering flying to Glasgow for this. I haven't been anywhere other than Wales and England since I was 8 and I was definitely not planning on doing so this year.

FMF, right?

thats why i said *for another thread* but yea i agree you should be able nominate someone else or return them with enough notice. It's do-able they just don't want to so we have to live with scummy touts.

I'm from Hull, a city of over 250,000 people. The place has potential but fails. Manics haven't played there since 96. Do I win?
