Not an attack on anyone, no. But the band do perhaps need to engage with the shadow a lot more and not be so concerned with digital terrorists! I know the fandom has mostly moved to social media and that's fine i guess but the band aren't really trying are they? It's mostly the pr machine engaging with this stuff. They're so old school when it comes to media and i have a modicum of respect for that but it ain't gonna be bringing many new fans.

I think the band are ok for what they are doing. Isn't it better to read all the articles. I for one as a fan quite happy to read what they write on twitter without questioning. Unfortunately there are attacks on social media. I had my account suspended for a few hours while someone was offended? possibly about gardening. It's just sad the way people abuse social media. I think the band wouldn't want to be in that. I hope they continue the way they prefer to.

At this point in their career, I think the amount of new fans they'd gain by engaging more on social media would be pretty small.
Similarly, are there that many older / established artists that really use social media that much?

Brian May is a very active Instagram user and even had a whole day of live streaming his press activities a couple of weeks ago as part of his Back To The Light re-release. He's 20+ years older than the Manics but puts them to shame when it comes to social media!

The Manics are comfortable doing what they are doing. I guess they all bought and paid for their houses. They are happy where they are what they are doing. They have their own studio. They can do whatever theatre or maybe arena tours they want. I can see them doing an album every 18 months or so now. So I'm just glad they're still making music.

At the end of the day, how many bands thirty years past the release of their debut and on their fourteenth album attract new fans based on their new output?

Have the band released anything since SATT which has been noticed by the youth of the day?

I think people just need to accept that Nicky is never going to respond to their Instagram/twitter posts

I hope they remix Freedom of Speech. It's a great song murdered by the production.

Another mention of the reissue in the NME article. Hope it's out before Christmas.

Wonder if that odd stand alone date in London in December will be KYE in its entirety?

I believe there is another article in the NME forthcoming that at least has them talking about 20 years of KYE. So maybe some news soon!

That's a Tuvalu gig, advertised as such. Though maybe LRS being on last weeks setlist hints towards more coming...

I'm glad they are finally getting round to playing Tuvalu. Too long have they been playing the south of England and ignoring their longstanding fanbase in the South Pacific.
