Indeed it was.

What about GATS? I can't think of a soundbite off the top of my head, but surely there must be?

I still haven't thought of one. Maybe we're missing something really obvious....

What about EMG as well? Surely there's one on that. Do we count the waves on Elvis?

Unless the bit at the beginning of SOT?

3 days in and this albums is in my top three Manics albums. Every track works on me now.
My earlier concerns gone and I've never been happier with the record.
I'm glad I've been a fan long enough to see them get another number one album again. That's as far as my excitement goes for the weekend.
PFAYM may as well be my favourite album until further notice.

And happy FD still being sold! Puts off potential Sony demands for another "Best Of."
It's been an amazing three years and I hope they go back into the studio Autumn 2011.

It's only Thursday Aaron. Don't be counting your chickens just yet! Of course I am still keeping positive though. It's gotta happen!

My few thoughts after listening to the new album a few times...

At first I couldn't stand the Pop-iness of the new album but meanwhile I have come to terms with it, I really like 3-4 songs (Hazelton, Balconies, Nothingness) and the rest is growing, only 1-2 tracks are left to skip regularily.

At first I thought that "The Future Has Been Here 4 Ever" should really be a B-Side but the second half of it is really nice and I think the song will really work well live.

In total the album is what you call "Altherrenrock" in German (= old men rocking), but that's what the Manics are now, no?

It just stunned me though that for me no band is such a familiar listen like the Manics...

Dadrock? I'd love to hear Nicky's reaction to that! Altherrenrock sounds better than Dadrock though I think.

Good comments, Markus - also have to say thank you to you for recording my favourite gig ever! (JDB Camden Barfly 2006 ).

I didn't like Nicky's song initially, it just came across as a disjointed, tuneless dirge after a couple of listens. Now it is one of my favourite on the album.
