The Holy Bible is the best Manics album for one very good reason - it's the best distillation of the talents of all 4 members. The lyrics Richey wrote are some of the best he did. Nicky contributes one of his best ever lyrics in "This Is Yesterday". James has never sounded better and his guitar playing is stunning. And Sean underpins all of it with the best drumming he would ever do (until JFPL, which I maintain is a total showcase for the awesomeness of Sean's thumping).
The only close rivals are EMG and JFPL, but both have just a little something missing. But not much. Altogether, those stand as the three best Manics albums for me because they so perfectly combine the talents of all 4 members. All the other albums - the ones I like and the ones I don't - are slightly flawed. Or in the case of KYE, utterly fucking doomed from the start.

Not surprised that THB is winning, at all.

Well okay, I can't say I really see the point, but whatever floats your boat...

Kieslowski, I still sometimes fall asleep to THB. JFPL keeps me awake.
Just wanted to do something different. Maybe it's all the cold meds I've been taking. |

The Holy Bible is clearly their best album. A masterpiece.
Honourable mentions go to Everything Must Go and Journal For Plague Lovers.

One horse race without a doubt!! HB,........ But for me EMG, GATS, and PFAYM fighting it out for second, and yes I do like Postcards that much and GATS!! Just look at the reviews PFAYM as attracted, that No1 spot is looking ominous for it.

I love GATS but with so many albums it usually ends up near the bottom for me. So give your GATS CD a hug!
