I was listening to it today and I agree that it sounds great vocally. There's a lot of great harmonies and backing vocals on it too, something I don't think he focuses on as much in the Manics.

The Andrew Marr show performance certainly showed he hasn't lost any of his vocal power!

He puts a lot of vocalists to shame. Most don't have the ability to do good acoustic stuff.

And alot of them have weak, weedy sounding voices. Thank goodness for James!

Ready For Drowning is one of my favourites. I definitely agree with those who said I Live to Fall Asleep, and that Lifeblood & This Is My Truth are full of brilliant vocals from James! Facing Page: Top Left is another favourite.

Could listen to James singing all day. Like how he varies his apporoach to songs depending on what style the music is.

Remember a Scottish lad who wrote in to Teletext (and I bumped into him randomly on another forum!) to say about how amazing James' vocals were on this song!

And "To See A Friend In Tears" is my favourite soft James vocal. On the last line I can picture his eyes going wide and teary like they do on cartoons. No, you don't know what I'm on about, ok, "To See A Friend In Tears" then. |
