edinburgh on the PPF tour in 2004 and glasgow on the send away the tigers tour in 2007 stand out as definite highlights with the band on fire and great setlists - king tut's had to be a highlight as well just for the chance to see the lads in such a tiny venue

It has to be your first time! In my case the legendary (now defunct) Birmingham Barbarella's in 1991.

My first was also fantastic. Even though it was during the Truth tour, it was right at the end of the American tour. I think there was only a couple after that. I always found it amusing that i saw them in this little club and 3 or 4 gigs later, they played at the big stadium in Cardiff. I wasn't even bothered that it was a truth heavy set. They played Faster so i went home happy and covered in eyeliner. |

I've only seen them twice, but I'm glad to see that people who've been to way more back up my idea that the JfPL tour was something very special.

Really too many gigs to choose a favourite one. Loved the Manics home coming gigs at St David's Hall and at Blackwood. Also the Manics Millenium gig was a highlight for me.

The Hibernian in 91 was chaotic and probably the most adrenaline-fuelled gig I ever went to.My first too.
The secret gig at The Marquee just as GATS was released was the first time they seemed really tight, musically to me. Hearing them play 'Charles Windsor' and 'New Art Riot' at Brixton in '94 and the final Astoria '94 gig. Truly amazing... |

Proper loved Liverpool PPF 2005, I know this sounds weird but my Grandad was dying that weekend, but I was meant to be going to the gig and Everton match the Sunday. All our family were in the hospital, and he said to us all (me and my cousins) "Just go and do what you were going to do". Some went to The Grand National, some went to a party and me and my bro went to the Manics.
They were not in the best of ways but the gig and tour seemed like a big blow out for them, and the played DFL second too which gave it a different atmosphere. Archives of Pain got played, Firefight(!), IfWhiteAmerica, a really good version of Roses in The Hospital and Paradise City into Motown Junk to finish, it was just ace given that it was only my second time seeing them, and the time before had been a pretty sterile affair in the MEN in Dec'04, and they hadn't played MOtown then either . Anyway, my Grandad died that night and we all went the match together and we won 4-0 in blazing sunlight and of course even though the weekend was so sad, it always makes me feel as though we gave him a great send off and that Mnaics gig will always make me feel a melancholy happiness |
