I love to listen to TGW when I'm driving around in South Wales, it fits so perfectly there. Still A Long Way To Go and Kodachrome Ghosts are among the best things James has ever done, end of.

On balance, I like this album more than any Manics album.

It's better than the last two Manics albums....(not counting Rewind The Film).

It's a very good album but some of the B-sides from the era were better. As much as I've enjoyed all the recent MSP albums I wouldn't mind another JDB solo album when the Manics take some downtime.

I've been wondering if Anthem For a Lost Cause is a lost song from this, or at the very least a continuation of the "Solo James" style. Apparently James wrote the words, and there's little things in the acoustic guitar riffs, the melody, the big chorus etc. that remind me of the solo album.

needs a remastering. It sounds quite tinny these days.

Gave this a spin for the first time in a while. I really loved it at the time, but boy is this thing still a beast nearly a decade on. The B-Sides are really great too. Days Slip Away is a banger!

Not a weak track on it |

I agree, fantastic album, love the b-sides too. Don't Look Back & Kodachrome Ghosts are two of my favorites.

It and its b-sides are still in my phone's 'most played tracks' playlist.
I don't know where the last nine years went.

9 years! But it was yesterday that I went into HMV on... Oh...
If the Manics haven't written a song all yeah then I hope James demos his stockpile and says "If you don't want these can I use them for another solo album I don't really want to make again?"! |
