Is there a single new or unreleased track on the whole set? I always look forward to some "previously unheard demo" or some other obscure dealy with these. But there's nowt there.
Compared to the GT box set or even the Holy Bible one, this doesn't seem as good...

It looks gorgeous
The aesthetic from the EMG period is my fave The uniform nature of the singles sleeves and the no image It's very sterile but cool |

The only thing which would have made this better is if they had got SSO remixes of every track on the album as I love the SSO remixes

box set looks nice, but there's nothing there i don't already have; already got all the tracks, the album on vinyl, and Everything Live on the Japanese DVD... doubt i'd watch the feature more than once too... if anything, i'd be more after the official release of the Nynex audio on the standard issue.
...but then, the box is only £45 on Amazon (unsigned), so not exactly bank-breaking for a nice looking shelf-filler to sit alongside the GT and THB boxes...

Question is, when was Naysmith invented?

I think in an ideal world where I had money to burn I'd be first in line. It looks a nice set. But to be honest, in the real world, this is another in a growing line of nostalgia trips for the band.
I can't help but feel that the band need to be relevant again, and are in-fact relevant again. Constantly complaining that bands don't say anything anymore. And they've got plenty to oppose right now. But they're putting energy into these nostalgia trips.

And, disappointingly, it didn't even contain any shoes.

EMG however is an artistic high point. Not a single filler track. Great power and poignancy in each track. Delicate moments and balls to the wall riffage. So EMG deserves to be remembered and celebrated. It was the album which made them big, but should have made them huge (which TIMTTMY finally did). The fact adfl was kept if the top spot by some crap (can't remember which kept it off number 1) is a travesty. THB, while not my fave album, also deserves to be remembered. If EMG is the best of the manics mark 2, then THB is the best of the manics mark 1. |

Nothing else in 2016 has made me laugh as much as that.
My shoebox and t shirt still haven't been opened. For some reason I can convince myself it's an investment if I keep it like that.
