Has anyone managed to find a reasonably priced copy online somewhere yet? I can't get to any stores today as I have my nephews birthday party.

I hope you managed to get a copy! I went to town for dinner time and nowhere had any left, apparently most shops only got one copy. Had to trail all the way to Kingston Park and got the last copy.

I had a look out of interest but they'd sold the copy they had. Oh well.

Never queued for RSD before... it was ok, but I would have gone earlier if I'd known how long it would be!
Was happily successful though ![]() ![]() ![]() (For the record*, I took this photograph with my heart and my mind. But with a camera as well. *pun fully intended) ![]() (Label is the same background image on both sides if anyone wondered). Other notes: Catalog no. is 88985420951. Record feels a decent weight and is 45rpm so it should sound pretty nice (haven't actually got round to that bit yet! ![]()

Online sales for RSD stuff are usually one week later, subject to stock available from individual stores/sources.

So those that have it, what is the 60's Jangle version like?
Apart from more jangly. |

![]() To expand, my take on it is... it's much less 'produced'-sounding, and more demo-like (appropriately enough as it's a demo!), but it is multi-track/part, sounds like a studio recording, and not quite as rough and basic as the two cassette demos on side B, which are just individual guys singing with their guitars. And yes, a little more jangly I guess (but not hugely jangly... don't go thinking this is massively jangly!). It's quite charming IMHO, but lacks the 'glue' that the finished version has (or arguably even has a little too much of?). It's a little 'choppier' sounding, rhythmically speaking. I think my ideal version would be somewhere in between the album version and the '60's Jangle' demo version. The vocal harmonies/backing make it sound a little different to me too (all James by the sound of it). The cassette demos have some nice elements to them - James's vocal guitar solo line, and Wire's introduction "...every alternative line would be Nina...". Altogether I really love this release, it's like the formation of the song in reverse. But is my love alone enough? Well for me, yes, yes it is.

Anyone else listened to it yet who has it? Is that James' doorbell going at the end of his cassette demo? lol.
What is the glitch of which you ... twitch/(refer to)? I would at least try to hold out until the remaining RSD stock goes online from record shops' websites and see if any of those have it. I guess it depends how badly you want to be sure of getting it. Which will be why my legs hurt today!
