It actually seemed pretty standard from this thread, just a bigger audience (much bigger granted) and a long set. I wasn't there though so how would I know.

You say much bigger, but it wasn't long ago they were playing a whole tour of venues this size and bigger (I forget what year it was I saw them 4 times including the MEN?). The defining feature of this one for me was that they just played for that long, something they've never done and will never do again. My legs would be fucking aching.

Yeah, I'm not sure I could have stood for that long. It was long enough when I saw them with a normal set!

In hindsight it seems it was probably just left over emotion from Motorcycle Emptiness. I've long felt emotional when hearing that song, but it's never actually provoked tears until tonight.

As for the show overall, it was good, but it did feel like it was starting to drag midway through the second set. If I'm perfectly honest, I preferred Cardiff for the overall atmosphere, though musically, some of the songs tonight (ME and Faster in particular) were the best performances I've seen.

One last thing, please tell me I wasn't the only one who wanted to shout "More cowbell" during Slash and Burn.

It was nice to see they've still got lots of fans. I enjoyed seeing all the middle aged men in feather boas. My back is fucking killing me from standing for so long, and I didn't even stay til the end.

I shall write an obituary for Denise tomorrow.
Don't be so suprised about him failing at smashing his bass, he must be exhausted, my dearest baby.
