Could it be the first time James has left the stage mid-set at a Manics gig?

He's had stuff on stage a few times before when suffering whilst touring.

Well it's comforting to know he's got the right meds when he needs them. I suppose it's just a bit more worrying right now, just after his mega laryngitis bout.

Best gig ever. For sooooooo many reasons. I have a forest in my bag from BSP. I am so tired. Night.

You so weren't there. It was a highlight of the tour and actually sung very well. Aside of the lovely gesture of giving James a break we all went mental in the centre, it was great!

Excellent gig. Nicky doing Future on his own was a definite highlight - wasn't acoustic, it was a pink version of the guitar James uses for Tsunami.

Wa HeY!!! That's amazing that they've finally played a new song from PFAYM - 'The Future Has Been Here 4ever'!! All be it Nicky solo (any trumpet solo BTW???)! That's great news, thought we'd never hear any more songs off the album. I know the only reason is cos of James' voice, but still, what a pleaseant turn up for the books!!! And Nick doing a solo spot too, think that could be a first for an actual MSP gig!!?? (*confirmation needed*)!! Anyway, Absolutly Amazing by the sounds of it, am well jelous of anyone who was at this gig! Sounds like it was a proper good 'un, as they say!!

Rest of the gig was quite good but it was clear James was still struggling with his voice. Wayne had to do the "roses in the hospital" lines during the verses, for instance. Bless James for soldiering on but i can't help but feel postponing these dates would've been better. |

Yes a rather great gig, with James at about 80% fit I would say. Set-list was predictable, apart from Nicky's (which actually sounded good) solo section. Some good banter with the crowd over the Leicester Tigers, and a mention of Leicester City during A Design for Life. Everyone seemed to be having fun on stage, and apart from a few twats in the audience (which you get at every gig) it was a good audience from where I was.

Brilliant brilliant gig. Obviously James was not quite 100%, he's a real trooper.
Nicky's solo version of Future was surprisingly good, and here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otVesW759h4 There was no trumpet, maybe Sean isn't confident of playing the trumpet live yet. The crowd was much better than the other gig in the tour I went to in Lincoln. BSP were in halloween fancy dress. Nicky dressed as a schoolboy for the first part, and then donned a Sgt Pepper style green coat and the sailor hat for the second part. |

I'm so 100% a James girl, but Nicky doing Future was a real treat and it was so special being there for a "first". He really did good, you just so had to be there. Brilliant gig.
Also, Nicky spent ages after, talking with fans, mingling with no fences/barrier (made up for Lincolns no show )))) Yes, I'm an Insomniac. (note the time!!) Last edited by MANIC4DOGS; 01-11-2010 at 03:29. |

Now you've got a whole month and 14 days to get that voice 100% fit again James! Glad everyone had a great gig!
No trumpet on Future then? That would be the only reason I'd want to hear it live-wise! Just to say I go through phases of being antagonistic towards Nicky. I don't hate him!
