Anyone complaining about that setlist should be banned to Mars.
Wonderful, perfect, great, astounnding, immense setlist. Even the second part of the set is unique. Only the few biggest hits, fair enough.

You'll never please everybody. Everybody has their dream set list which you've got as much chance of hearing as winning the lottery. What I would like is that each night's second set has a couple of tweaks to make each gig unique. But last night's set list has only increased my anticipation for Thursday night.

But most of lifeblood wasn't played since 2004! I suppose it is a curio, I just think it's the track on lifeblood that loosely could be put in the status of the songs they wheel out as second to the always played hits.
Note people please stop complaining I am complaining, I'm not! Just an observation ![]() Last edited by Takk; 09-12-2014 at 10:25. |

Ahhh,it was great.I agree the second set felt short but the songs were still excellent.Disappointed no Walk Me to the Bridge though :-( PCP and Intense Humming were belters.Having only really come to appreciate Lifeblood in the last 5 years I was ecstatic they played 1985.
Oh and I saw Fitzy and arabiansanchez (nice boa!) but didn't say hi ![]() |

Cracking gig, really enjoyed myself.
I'd been joking to mates who totally hate Lifeblood during the wait for the first set that we'd get something from Lifeblood, so I was pretty happy when 1985 started. Donkeys was such a joy to hear live too. Also, on a non-music related note, I bumped into someone at the bar who was sticking a sign on someone's back with their username for this forum - apparently he and someone else went to the P/P/F 2005 Edinburgh show and last night's show was a 'reunion' of sorts. Would love to know if they did find each other and had a good time.

One bloke and his " I prefer the phonics" missus were grumbling through the first half because they weren't playing songs he knew. I was fuming because it was clearly obvious the intention of the gig.

There was a bit of that at the Biffy gigs the nights before. On the Puzzle / Blackened Sky night I overheard somebody conmplaining because they didn't play Many of Horror... Wrong night sunshine.

There's one aspect of this gig that hasn't really been touched upon, and that is the overwhelming and sweaty nature of the first set that left us too bewildered to care that they played some predictable hits. It was a joy to hear Dreaming a City (I never thought they'd play an instrumental live), Donkeys again, and 1985 again, but the Bible set had been such a brooding and intense spectacle with a fucking ridiculous moshpit that it really didn't register as anything but light relief afterwards. The full crowd was shoving forward yelling the lyrics to the full album, and it did make you feel a bit light-headed. Similarly to the way people moaned about Kate Bush not playing Wuthering Heights, it was such a spectacle you didn't really care at the time.
