Downloading (and iTunes in particular) has made all music more accessible, and means that people who want new music don't just have to choose between the new singles that have been released, or whats played by major radio. When you consider the whole myspace revolution, and how to access whatever bands you like sorted by genre, and discover new music easily, then it's pretty easy to see that if people don't like the track, they won't select it.
Theres less of a huge thing about buying physical singles anymore, because music is everywhere. It's only really big fans of the band that will buy the hardcopy for collections sake. And casual fans just won't bother, they'll just be happy to hum along to it on the radio every so often. |

![]() Same. I love that the charts aren't just what people want to push that week anymore. I like that its less of a "you have to choose between these 20 songs now!" thing. |

Oh for the mid 90's again. When you could go into a record shop and still buy albums on cassettes!

Don't think it's that illogical to compare SKON with Design. Both have soaring choruses and get the heart pumping!

well... that's not true. They both are songs. And they both have choruses.

well, she'd been talking in general about the comparison earlier and that was the explanation, so no.

I like the way Nicky is singing some stuff in the web-video - as though he's the second voice on the song!

It is highly illogical. SKON may get your YOUR heart pumping but it sends me, and many others, into a subtle coma. Whereas ADFL is good. What you're basically saying is "I like them both, so they are the same, and if you hate one then you hate them both," which is utter bollocks.

I honestly have no idea how ADFL and SKON can be compared. They're nothing alike. For one point, one is good, and one has a shite choir bit.

I like both songs but I wouldn't really say they're the same.

Both as good as each other though!

that's your opinion, and fair enough. But you can in no way claim that they are similar.

SKON's 33 at the moment, and - hey! - the 5th highest new entry... I'm amazed it doesn't look like doing as well as the chugging INW, in my view it's a much better song although I don't think the understated TV versions* have done it justice.
*For which I'm blaming fate, not James. |
