I was thinking maybe they'd be putting a single out on the 9th, the day after playing the Hyde Park thing, and the album out on the 16th, after Festival No 6.

But actually, putting the single out a week or two earlier with no promotional appearances at all, then putting out an album of brand new material the day after playing six of their best-known hits to a Radio 2 crowd, is much more their style of marketing.

I think you've totally nailed their cunning promotional plans! That sounds exactly like the Manics!

Oh yes, probably (and sadly) the press will give more cover to the monkeys.

September release? Damn, I'm backpacking around New Zealand from August to maybe December so I'll have to wait until I get back home to buy the album Hope they release a song in July so I can get excited about some new material before I go.

AM are cool though so I don't mind them getting more press. They will probably fall out of favour with the media if and when they release their 11th album.

They probably will do SOME promotion. Most probably singing on Strictly again.

Sort of matches up with what Sean Read told me on Saturday... early September release, followed by a possible tour a bit later in the year. Also thinks there'll be a much bigger tour around April to coincide with the 2nd album being released.

Hope "bigger tour" means at least Europe...

Not sure, it could just mean a larger UK tour!

Well to quote the Field Mice, "September's Not So Far Away". I'm really looking forward to this album and it's follow up companion next year.

I wonder what formats the album will be released as? Normal CD. CD book and extra disc of demos?
