I gave up on the charts years ago. When I left school I realised that I liked 90% of the music was from an era before I was born. I've started collecting vinyl for the past five years to make matters worse.

Glad Wales won their first game, maybe if they get to the final (haha) the Manics will fly in and play before the game? Any way, don't care much about the football but will cheer on Wales just for the Manics and their song

I have to say, this song isn't the Manics strongest work..eek. Congrats on Wales winning though.

Very nice: a sort of, kinda like, you need to squint a bit, number 1 single? I'll take it.
The majority of those sales must surely be nostalgic manics fans because what sane person would pay £4.99 with no proper bsides.

Was cool to get some Manics before the game started! Was telling my Dad they were the band who’s concert I collapsed at! lol!

Good for the band and for the charities that may get a decent donation from the single's proceeds.

God that's depressing, you can top the physical chart without being in the top 100....

A Design For Life in there at number 17 too, two entries in the 'top 20'...

Imagine how little you'd need to sell to make it to 100 in the physical chart. Something like one copy within the last three months, presumably...

Still better than "The Day David Bowie Died" at number 6 by David J!
A song so shit it hasn't even got a video on YouTube, only a recording taped off the radio! Plus it sounds like a tribute to David Soul as opposed to Bowie. Not linking it as it could undo everything on the forum! |

Just watched this, right at the end they're asked about the Manics' Welsh football song... they don't like it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgAfKkdgRcc
