Emailed Kontraband asking for an update, didn't get one but a DPD code has appeared on my order status. Lucky dip what'll turn up, obviously, but it would appear things are moving.

My delivery arrived, ordered the signed CD/book and signed vinyl. Vinyl is signed (well, guessing that was the included signed print in the separate envelope) but the CD/book insert wasn’t signed.

Signed vinyl is definitely a real thing, as seen here on Twitter. Is the signed piece of paper what constitutes the 'signed book' perhaps?

What an utter bungle

I have just pressed play on the first track now on Spotify (I have it now as my brother gave me a code or something from his account). Sounding good so far, excited to hear it all the way through and the demos, etc I'll buy the book package when it's about £30 or something in the future.

Oh, thanks for sharing. I was going to let it slide since at least one of the inserts were signed...

If you email them they'll send you the extra sleeve in the fullness of time. Then you'll have a collectors edition unsigned one

Yeah, I already posted a pic of my signed vinyl... !

Whoever took that photo in your post apparently has the same carpet as me though, which I find inexplicably hilarious.

(Also, sorry yours hasn’t turned up yet).

that version of What's My Name: notes in the back of the book say it was recorded in Cambridge, USA in 1993?

James definitely namechecks Norwich mid-song - so I'm assuming it's from the same Norwich UAE gig (21/10/92) as the Slash 'n' Burn on the La Tristesse b-side? And they've put that version on the re-release accidentally, rather than the version recorded in the UK Cambridge on 20/10/92, that was also on the La Tristesse single?

Tut tut, another silly mistake by whoever does the notes for the Manics albums.

I got same response

One of the, seemingly many, unlucky people to only receive the signed book today, when I ordered the signed LP with it.

Just curious, how can “we don’t have anymore signed LP’s” be a valid excuse from Kontraband Merch. I would’ve thought the pre-sale determines the number needing signing & you match them up to the orders you need to fulfil? Weird, no!?!

More annoyingly, why did they think it ok to just not send any type of LP at all (seeing as they are now apparently going to send the extra sleeves later), & not say anything about it? Surely they would’ve seen the issue when they started packaging the orders?
Of course mistakes happen understandably, but it seems a bit shoddy of Kontra to act all “oh, has something gone wrong!?!” instead of just levelling with us.
Communication is key, to a happy fan base 😊

Hopefully they’ll rectify it all ok though 😉👍🏻
