£50 is pushing a decent price but as I'm quite skint right now, nothing going.

What has GT done to rattle your cage?

Been shit, like it has always been! I tried to re-listen to it recently and got as far as You Love Us and turned it off! Just sounds so muddy and it's blatantly obvious they couldn't even be arsed to use real drums! Horrible, horrible album. The sounds actually sound good live which is the annoying thing, so it could've been much more.

It's also got the most forgettable or awful tracks of any Manics album, and unlike SATT doesn't have a digestible runtime to fall back on. That being said the highlights are completely worth the price of entry. |

Well GT did come out in '91! I think it still sounds pretty amazing even now! And NME picked it as their fave debut album from 1991. Woohoo!

With regard to GT, I only really listen to the US mix, it just sounds so much better. Shame it doesn't have all the tracks though.
Postcards mind, I'm on a self-enforced period of avoidance for a while. Like many of us I've listened to it to death, so I need a break. Luckily, and on the Wire's recommendation, I am now loving Paul Weller's "Wake Up The Nation". For me though, Platitudes, Balconies and Future are now my favourites. Descent was top dog for me before, in particular the wonderful second part of the solo, but it has now been overtaken. The lead single is probably down near the bottom now.

Was just saying to JimmiB on another thread about Failure Bound. I probably liked the music as only listened to it the once. Nicky's rapping may well have put me off that one for life!
