Is anybody else waiting with nervous terror for Nicky to tweet something facepalmingly stupid about the riots?

He's too busy looting copies of Postcards From A Young Man so there's an excuse why it's not selling

'Postcards' sold well and people like it. No amount of claiming otherwise will change that. Get over it. |

Doesn't mean it's any good enough. Easily their worst album.

Just because something sold well doesn't mean that it's a fabulous album, just have a look at the current Billboard charts.

It sold well cos it's a good record in my opinion! I don't think the music rags were praising it for the good of their health!

Just because some people don't like it doesn't mean it's not a good album does it?

All it means is that some people think it's good and some people don't then I suppose, haha. My point about the Billboard charts was that they are a terrible reflection of what good things are out there though, by which I mean a lot of great albums around nowadays don't appear on there at all or if they do, are rather low.
It was the Manics' bid for "mass-communication" after all, much more radio-friendly than JFPL, so it's not too surprising, just not my cup of tea. I don't think PFAYM is their worst album though, that would be GATS. |

I'm listening to Postcards right now! GT always ends up at the bottom of my pile. I still love it of course I just think they have got better as they have got older.

That's not my point. If people hate 'Postcards' that's fine with me. What i'm talking about is the bizarre way that people who hate the album keep making comments about it selling badly (which it didn't) and being badly reviewed (which it wasn't). There's a massive difference between disliking something and inventing an entire parallel reality in which everyone dislikes it just so you don't have to face the concept that your opinion isn't objective fact. It's sad that people are so insecure that they have to do it, and irritating for other people reading it.
