Today I was Jeremy Goode whilst looking like Silent Singer (miming Motown Junk)

I did think about what they'd play alot as I worked today. I thought they might have done PCP, but Can't Take My Eyes Off You would have been special - really hope that's on youtube soon.....

No info on Nicky's jewelled face???

Can't wait to see some close up shots from tonight - towel on head/Nicky's apperance / Sean looking 'hot' photos please.....

Agree with Takk, best of the tour - they've just been getting better, wasn't sure they'd top Wolves but crowd/towel on head/grins at lyric fuck-ups did it

Really? Better than Wolves? Pah, I refuse to believe it (simply because I wasn't there tonight )!
Also, what lyrics did they manage to muck up?

Got me a 7" and made it though the entire gig with it intact!
That's 1 row from the front and avoiding the guys who were drunk of their tits AND still managing to enjoy myself.
I was pleased with that.

Not so that we didn't get any JFPL and too much PFAYM

Aside from the lack of Suicide Alley (I would have loved to have seen it as the acoustic slot song) that was worth every single penny and moment of time planning and travelling and waiting for.

That whole show can be summed up for me in one simple moment. Nicky Wire crouching down during (I think) Postcards From A Young Man, and kissing his dog. A simple, yet special moment.

Also, it was a pleasure to meet the few people I met, even if I can't remember the names of the two who weren't Marwood (I'm sorry). Finally, thank you for buying and keeping safe those copies of Motown Junk.

If you don't mind madam, I've been doing the 'regards' thing on every forum I use for nearly ten years now, long before you young people invented all these fancy interwebs shenanigans!

Anyway, fucking AWESOME gig, maybe my fave since PPF. So good to hear LBAL, they reminded me how much I love Enola/Alone and My Little Empire, absolutely over the moon about Solitude Sometimes Is, Great setlist generally, Nicky making faces whenever James messed up a lyric, Nicky kissing the dog was really sweet, Nicky's skirt and the view I got whenever he did a kick (sorry but Nicky is my one man-crush so I savour these moments), quite funny moment in the queue at about 5 o'clock where Wayne whassisname and Sean Reed walked right past and nobody else even seemed to notice, and James' voice was bloody stunning (people who say he couldn't manage, say, Mausoleum these days don't have a clue what they're on about, seriously you should've heard him roar out lines tonight).

Sean Reed needs to shut the fuck up though, his backing vocals are distracting and more importantly crap.

Really great meeting David, he was a great barrier buddy, llovely to see astrogirl again, and meeting her friend Tom. Having comrades does rather add to the enjoyment. As the song goes, "I need to learn to make some friends".

Anyway, awesome, knackered, thanks to astrogirl for grabbing me a Motown Junk 7inch and managing to keep it safe throughout the gig.

Need sleep.

Regards,
Marwood.

Great gig, Wolves probably still edges it for best night of the tour but it was a nice end to the tour. Quite a lot of beered up knobs mind, 2 behind me, one sounded like he was in pain when he sang (almost as bad as Sean Reed during Slash N Burn) and the other was quite aggressive and kept chanting "take my drink!" over and over and "fuck cam-ron-". Great to hear Cant Take My Eyes Off You again, nice little addition, though I was still little dissapointed with the lack of different songs and Suicide Is Painless' continued very unwelcome presence. And seriously Bradfield, if you slag off Lifeblood one more time I'm gonna jump over the barrier and slap you round your chubby little chops! It's positively a work of fucking GENIUS compared to the massive shitestorm of wank that is Postcards.

Just got back from Cardiff, best Manics gig since Sheps Bush for me, the whole thing was just amazing bar the bar prices. got almost on the barrier on the left side.

So many little things just made it such an amazing show, I saw them in Brixton and Sheffield on the last tour I didn't really enjoy eithier but that gig tonight showed what I love about the Manics. I got a copy of Motown Junk during You Love Us just before I had to leave so not sure how many are left.

Some observations

Land of Our Fathers intro was stunning

Wire's skirt was far shorter than I expected

James welsh flag guitar is beautiful

James was in amazing voice

Nicky's knee is fucked by the way how many operations has he had on that I wonder

Someone on backing vocals needs to tune it down

Moore's drumming was amazing

The crowd seemed up for it, and I didn't notice many arseholes in the crowd were I was stood, bar a couple that were far more interested in snogging each other and shouting for obsecure album tracks than anything else.
