If you're going to the England game try and get the chorus going in the stands

Please, he prayed, now - A gray disk, the colour of Chiba sky. Now - Disk beginning to rotate, faster, becoming a sphere of paler gray. Expanding - And flowed, flowered for him, fluid neon origami trick, the unfolding of his distanceless home, his country, transparent 3D chessboard extending to infinity. Inner eye opening to the stepped scarlet pyramid of the Eastern Seaboard Fission Authority burning beyond the green cubes of Mitsubishi Bank of America, and high and very far away he saw the spiral arms of military systems, forever beyond his reach. And somewhere he was laughing, in a white-painted loft, distant fingers caressing the deck, tears of release streaking his face. |

Well at least they were honest without being nasty, they did pay them a compliment. They probably would have done a better job

Sure, i don't think there was any malice involved, as far as i know they get on. Maybe their pub rock would have suited a football song better.

i don't think they would've come up with a better chorus which is the most important part. The verses are a bit clunky

You obviously not listened to them for years as they haven't done anything like 'pub rock' for a long time!

Who the hell is that guy who said it anyway? He must be to the Stereophonics what Wayne Murray is to the Manics.

Bit of a fan? Fair enough. They're not for me. Local boy in the pic is still one of my favourite tracks of any band though so there's that...

I've only heard the song once when they very obligingly performed on The One Show just as I was tuning in for Eastenders. My sporting interest starts and stops at Wimbledon & the swimming at the Olympics. I love the band I do but James is infamous for not always being decipherable....problematic with an anthem....I remember the c'mon Wales line so they've probly cracked it.

This is the worst Manics single in their entire career.
Trite, nonsensical lyrics. And a half decent backing ruined by old sports reports that are utterly meaningless to near enough every non Welsh person. EVERYTHING MUST GOAL!

Actually it's better than It's Not War, IMO, their nadir
