I'm so relieved they've gone back to smaller venues this time. The last tour was devoid of atmosphere for a large portion of the gigs I was present at, so hopefully they've learnt from that one. The last time they played Manchester Ritz, it was one of the loudest and bounciest Manics crowds I've ever been in, so glad they're going back there. And York Barbican is a surprise! I presume it will be seated, but could be wrong. It's a Yorkshire gig though, so of course I have to go
![]() As for the re-release, I'm disappointed there's no DVD, but oh well, never mind. Quote:

I'm surprised they didn't do a Cork gig this time round. Nicky keeps taking about returning and that's where the original TIMT tour commenced.

I thought the original TIMT tour commenced in Kettering (Northants) on September 15th, 1998.

![]() I've no idea what dates to do if I can't get the London ones. York appeals but it's a bank holiday so I have to worry about no trains potentially ![]() Manchester Ritz was utterly brilliant last time but it's so hot in there I'm not sure I'd be able to bear it this time...getting delicate me

Any idea whether the pre-sale starts at 5pm today, or whether we just get the code for a pre-sale tomorrow or Thursday?

Pre-sale will be 9.00 tomorrow probably on gigsandtours. Did a presale on their site two weeks ago and it was smooth as fuck.

When was the last time they played The Everlasting with full band? About 2003 maybe? Seen/heard it a billion times acoustic, so will be good to get it in full again.
Having said that...being the opening song I can imagine it being played acoustic before the band comes on for Tolerate.... So so so looking forward to Be Natural getting played! |

It will be interesting to see if James can still nail the vocals for Born a Girl. Mostly looking forward to Black Dog played as a full band with (hopefully) a live string section.

Garbage’s current Version 2.0 tour is themed around the album, playing all the tracks and b-sides but not in order. It works better as a gig.
This Is My Setlist Show Me Yours. Prologue To History Montana/Autumn/78 The Everlasting You Stole The Sun From My Toilet Break Nobody Loved You My Little Empire Buildings for Dead People I’m Not Working and Need a Toilet Break You’re Tender & Tired Tsunami South Yorkshire Mass Toilet Break Ready For Drowning Black Dog On My Shoulder Be Natural —- Born a Girl (ac) Can’t Take My Eyes (ac) —— Black Holes For The Young (with someone like Gwenno or the Anchoress or don’t bother with this one) Valley Boy Socialist Serenade Train In Vain The Masses Against The Classes If You Tolerate This I included Nobody Loved You even though it’s obvious they cut it from the reissue so they can get away with not playing it on the tour. I mean, if they do end up playing it, that makes the decision even worse than it already is. But seeing as they’re not going to play this setlist either, I can include what I damn well please. |

Few mixed feelings about this, really. Yeah, I love them and they're still my favourite band but I'm kinda feeling like my days of wanting to go to as many gigs as I possibly can are gone. Right now, I'm aiming for both Manchester nights and considering York and Liverpool. Want to do whatever the Welsh one might be, too.
Interested to find out whether the original album with Nobody Loved You or this one with Prologue in its place. It'd feel wrong if the latter, but would be surprised if they don't play it at all. Little disappointed with the content of the reissue, it's the first one not to have a dvd with it. I mean Holy Bible and Everything Must Go have had two each, would've loved there to have been summat in a similar vein for Truth, sat discussing the recording and how they felt about the album at the time and feel now etc. Even if it was summat like Glastonbury headlining or that Close Up documentary, there's plenty of stuff that could've been included. Could've included the live cassette b-sides too. Hope there's some decent liner notes at least... Venue wise, I'm glad they've gone to smaller venues. Having minor ticket panic about these though.. As much as I love the album, beyond the obsessive fans on here and the Facebook groups and that, I struggle to gauge how popular the album is now. Yeah, it sold a fuck load at the time and that'll be why it's become the Manics album I've seen in the most charity shops and bargain bins. Does seem to have been the tipping point for a lot of ex-fans though.. I kinda like that they're mirroring that initial 98 tour where they'd taken a step back from the arenas and gone for smaller places off the beaten track. Had to scroll through msppedia just now, wasn't sure they'd ever done York but they did in 1991. Course this tour'll tie in nicely with festival season, got Glastonbury tickets so hoping they'll end up there 20 years after their headline slot. Maybe could get away with headlining The Park or summat, but can't see em starting after 7pm on the Pyramid.
