I suppose its because I'm speaking as someone who owns the 2009 Japanese mini LP version of GT.

Remastered, b-sides, superb packaging. Been there, done that, just need to add a t-shirt...

(By the way, in case anyone forgets, this means I'm NOT moaning about the 20th anniversary edition bonus disc!)

B-sides or not, would really have liked to have heard some of those pre-GT demos we all know exist in better quality!

Indeed you could, and so would I. But then I'd like a full pre-GT compilation of singles, live stuff, b-sides and demos. Commercially completely unviable though, and never going to happen as the band sometimes seem so embarrassed about their early work.

Generally though... looking good, definitely an album that deserves this kind of treatment.

Third disk looks very good! What's 'rapido' and 'snub' though? A few short skits I assume?

I am very intrigued to see what's on the third disc. If it's b-sides, I won't have to buy the Japanese reissue. If it's something else, I'm more excited. The extra Motown Junk, wonder if that'll be a demo too. Never heard a demo of that one before.

They're TV shows. Might be these interviews or some live performances from the shows or something.

I maybe half remembering it but on the NME website interviews at the time of National Treasures there was mention of a 'slow' Motown Junk demo. Always wondered though if they considered a re-recording for GT, common sense would say not but that didn't stop them destroying Spectators of Suicide !

I'd hope they are demos of suicide alley ,New art riot and Motown junk (seeing as how the demos of suicide alley and new art riot are already 'released') .Even if so though it would've made more sense to see Behave Yourself Baby, Go Buzz Baby Go & Just Can't Be Happy Without You on there. Guess they're not too proud of the early demos!.
fairly sure that one of the repeats on the second disc will be another mix, and if stars&stripes was the best I don't need to hear more than one other mix

from John Slatex courtesy of Manic Street Mania: -

From unnamed (but reliable!) source, GT re-issue disc 2 will include "House In The Woods", "Marcus" & "Mynyddislwyn" demo sessions. #manics.

House In The Woods was the name of the recording studio used for GATS in Surrey if I recall correctly.

The 2CD/DVD version's pricing is making me optimistic for the collector's edition not being extortionate. Maybe I can get it after all.

Still a conspicuous lack of listings for this and Amazon hasn't got a clue what the price is. It went down from around £25 to £19.28 and now it's risen again to - wait for it - £19.30.

It'll end up being £14.99 like the NT 2CD/DVD set but don't let that get in the way of the Amazing Amazon Price Watch Game. Where do they get prices daft prices from? And who spends their working day adjusting them by 2p?
