Bit late to replying to this thread, as I've spent most the day in bed recovering from the gig (we didn't get home until about 2am last night and I felt a bit fucked). Well I really enjoyed it! Very hot and sweaty even before the band came on and the crowd round me seemed really into it. Plenty of jumping around and singing along (even to Show Me The Wonder) and the sound was clear at the front as well. Still think I preferred Manchester overall, but this was my second favourite of the tour. Nicky seemed a lot happier and more vocal/lively and James was really up for it too.

Think the setlist was mostly the same as Manchester, apart from La Tristesse (and no 30 Year War at Wolves) and although I've heard that plenty of times before it was nice to hear something different on this tour. Not sure about it as an opener though. The last couple of times I've heard Futurology were much better than the first two. I still absolutely love Europa Geht Durch Mich; it's so damn catchy! I leave every gig with it stuck in my head and wake up with it in my head the next day too. We heard them soundcheck Little Baby Nothing in the afternoon and some others said they heard another new song, so there could still be the odd setlist change to come. I'm hoping for something different at Brixton, especially as they're playing two nights there.

Loved some of the banter...James getting mixed up and announcing they were playing Enola/Alone rather than YLAINE was funny (to be fair, they both have 'alone' in the title ), as was him messing the lyrics up during This Sullen Welsh Heart and having to re-start the verse again. Also loved Nicky's story about accidentally using dry shampoo and that his hair has been the highlight of the tour so far. Loved his black suit for the first half of the gig too; very dapper indeed. As was James in his new jacket and black shirt There was a great moment when James and Nicky joined Sean on his drum stand too and Nicky seemed a lot more mobile round the stage than previous gigs, so presume he's feeling a bit better now. James also said something right at the end after ADFL about how they'll be there for the rest of our lives (I can't remember the exact wording, but it was something along those lines), which made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

It was a shame Lucy Rose didn't make it in time for the soundcheck...I guess they had their reasons for not wanting to risk doing it as a duet without any prep time (James does seem a bit of a perfectionist about these things and maybe Lucy Rose is too), so oh well, never mind. James is more than capable of carrying the song by himself anyway. I've really, really loved the acoustic sections on this tour.

It took 4 gigs, but I finally nabbed a setlist at the end, hurrah! That would be the one James posted to Twitter and is somewhere earlier in this thread. I'll eventually post some photos, but they'll have to wait until Wednesday, as I'm away from home until then.

The thing that stood out for me from THB tour gig was 1. someone climbed onto the speakers from the balcony and jumped down onto the stage, they have bouncers there now to stop that from happening and 2. James was using a cordless guitar (I think-I guess it could have been an extra long cord) and jumped down into the area between the barrier and the stage whilst continuing to play and walked through the door on the right hand side of the stage as you look at it and walked up and down the corridor where the bar is located all the time while continuing to play - cant remember what song this was though, but wont ever forget it
Ha that's brilliant! I do sometimes wish I was older so I could have experienced their earlier gigs. Although obviously completely appreciate they couldn't/wouldn't pull something off like that nowadays Which is why I don't have an issue with them slowing down the THB tracks now. They still sound brilliant and tight and James can still nail the guitar solo in Archives. It would actually be more embarrassing if they tried to be the embodiment of their former, younger selves. I think it's safe to say none of us are the same as we were in 1994/5!

Yes, big thanks to Finn for providing the cupcakes Well, they were delivered to the queue by her husband and kids, which was a lovely surprise. Hummingbird, I'm afraid I don't know what you look like, so didn't realise you were in the queue! But glad you enjoyed the cake anyway

£50 fine?! Wow that's a first. I've parked there pretty much every night for the last few weeks and got nothing!

Also, it was Nicky that apologised he couldn't remember. It was the first time he properly spoke that night too.
