New album: 2011–present[edit]
In an interview with Danny McNamara the band is recording their sixth album. "We're about three quarters of the way through the writing process," said McNamara. "We've got eight really killer songs. I want to get to 12 or 15 before we start recording. Musically it's more inventive than what we've done before. We're champing at the bit to get back."[4]

On 30 August 2012, Embrace stated on their Facebook page that the band will soon be releasing more news about the forthcoming album. "No-one in the world has heard anything from us in over six years, and in just a few weeks that's all going to change.[5] The band continued recording through the next year, however progress seemed stalled.

In late September 2013, Embrace announced a "secret gig", through their website launched for this.[6] It featured a rather expressive trailer, where Danny McNamara is posing as a disturbed individual writing lyrics on sheets and on his body as well, while his bandmembers are smeared with paint, all during a sound of presumably new song of the band, supposed to feature on the band's next album. The band announced that they have signed with Cooking Vinyl label to release their next studio album in Spring 2014.[7]

On 13 January 2014, Embrace announced a new self-titled album set to be released in 28 April, preceded by a new track, "Refugees".[8] On 28 April 2014, the album was released, hitting #5 that weekend.
Yeah, it was their big comeback album after all!

The new Embrace album isn't shit but it's nothing to get excited about. If it stays top 10 next week i'll be surprised.

Not that surprising since 9 of the tracks on the Pixies album had already been released in dribs and drabs.

I'm gonna go right ahead and say I've never heard of Embrace but it doesn't sound like I've missed much. I too was pissed with Damon not being no. 1.
Now what exactly is going on with WMTTB? Because I was waiting for a vinyl release which I thought would be out the same day as the actual release? Have I missed something?

Yeah, but hopefully the album won't be. And the next single.

But the next single won't stand a chance because the album will have already been released. Only the hardcore will buy it. AFALC, the second single from RTF, only made number 200. Walk was their only real shot this time around. Looks like they have messed up completely on that front (unless it figures somewhere between 101 - 200 and we just don't know about it yet). Not to take anything away from the song itself. And yes, the album will chart respectably. Top 10.

I think it'll go number 1!

EDIT: Unless something really really stupid and avoidable happens.

you're on!

Jools helps massively… Black Keys Fever has jumped from 142 in the chart to 72.. not the top 40 but the majority of that is R&B and pop

Jesus, why do people give Embrace so much shit? Has anyone actually heard the album? One of the best I've heard in a long time.
