I loved the bit about the B-sides and rarities tour, it was a really interesting response. James does seem genuinely interested in the idea, though I don't believe it would happen in a million years, and it's worth noting Nicky and Sean's thoughts on the subject aren't discussed. But yeah I did enjoy this needless bit of prick teasing from James, so much so that I've been meaning to start a completely pointless fantasy set list thread about it.

It's a really, really nice magazine, and the fan Q&A is a highlight. I was initially worried about not pre-ordering it online, but I was wandering around my local Sainsbury's on release day and they had a nice fat pile of the things on an endcap. I'm pretty sure I'm known as the only FMF in the village so it felt like a nice gesture

I think they tend to lose money any time they fly over the atlantic, pretty sure they lost money in 2009 and 2015. But when not playing arena dates, they do tend to sell out and their stage props are modest at best which I think keeps them lively on stage unlike other bands (I'm looking at you Muse!). I think the fact that they have their own studio within driving distance of all three, and are also fairly efficient when recording an album helps them keep their operating costs fairly low.

Bollocks!! The ultimate question and I've only just thought about it.
"Would you be interested in a Curb Your Enthusiasm type show about the band?".

Well I'd watch that.

Not going to moan about affordable prices either
I suppose that''s been true for bands for a while now, even before our plague years and i see james addresses it in the magazine about how lucky they have it as a band getting by not earning anything from gigs for 2 years. Even so, they still had to play at those obscure festivals (car fest?) to earn a bit of scratch. And that article you linked to... in addition to the extra cost of covid a band has to also now contend with the expense of visas when playing on the continent because of the ongoing brexit train wreck. Inflation inflation everywhere.

The best thing about this article is how Sean hasn't changed appearance since the age of 2.

I can only see us carrying on for another 10 or 12 years. Much as I respect the Rolling Stones, I wouldn’t want to be hobbling out on to a stage in my seventies. When we’ve had our time we’ll bow out gracefully.

Why does it absolutely make sense to me and totally not surprise me in any way that Sean was a childhood boardgame cheat?

I bet Sean gets to the studio early just to detune all of James's guitars. Probably changes Nick's collages every so slightly to make him think he's going mad

Truly the most relatable thing in that entire interview. We’ve all felt that pain.
