H Hawkline is cool. He's done a lot of stuff with Gruff Rhys before and is often in Cate Le Bon's live band, as well as solo stuff. He gets about a bit! Kind of inevitable the Manics would get him.

But the fans are not tired of it. It's what makes the band for me, and as soon as they start getting in other vocalists, it's not the Manics any more.

Ian McCulloch worked, Lucy worked but Cate Le Bon didn't really add anything to what was a poor song to begin with. I always skip 4 lonely Roads

I adore 4 Lonely Roads and think McCulloch bastardised what was a poor song to begin with. Not to mention the needless Cale and Duff cameos.
I'm undecided though, I just reckon JDB wants to try something new I suppose

Ian McCulloch was the worst duet yet. But it is an awful song. I like 4 Lonely Roads too, Rewind The Film and This Sullen Welsh Heart though. Thought those duets worked well on RTF.

Adore 'Four Lonely Roads'. Think Cate is amazing on it and I completely fell in love with her after that track.

Futurology still hasn't appeared on Amazon... Dammit, I want to spend imaginary future money!

I don't know exactly what Cale brought to AI and the bass-line from Duff was nothing Nicky couldn't do himself.

It's not obvious what Cale played, just seems like he played a bit of organ, can't hear much else.
