Had never heard of Y niwl. I quite like what I've heard. Welsh folks, how do you pronounce their name?

Thanks! Wow. Welsh doesn't make any sense to me, it looks so complicated to read. I don't know about the grammar, but reading is like a suicide.

In Welsh when the Y is used as the definite article as in "The" in English, and as here in "Y Niwl" (The Fog), it's pronounced a bit like "Uh". The "iwl" is pronounced a bit like "ule" in "yule".

So it's "Uh Nule" in my opinion.

Well at least he eventually got round to promoting his talk, he probably found out about it after us.

My Welsh is beyond appalling so I suspect you are right.

Assuming they are FD members (the No Manifesto showing that I desperately regret not going to was just an FD thing wasn't it?), it's a shame they'd even consider being so inconsiderate.

And hopefully some kind soul will point out to them that it's Nicky from the Manics giving a talk and not Yan from BSP. (Just going by a comment from a post in the No Manifesto's thread about the noisy bunch wearing BSP t-shirts or something???) Just thinking if you're not interested in the Manics any more why show up in another bands t-shirts and spend the evening giggling/laughing noisily throughout the entire event, whatever it might be? Go to a BSP gig instead and see how long their fans put up with your behaviour I say!

I didn't realise it was a BSP related thing.

If that's true I hope they don't bother turning up for the Daniel Johnston gigs that BSP are playing at. Because they will get told to shut the fuck up in no uncertain terms if they make so much of a whisper there, by me and plenty of others.

I didn't attend the No Manifesto's thing so don't quote me entirely on that one, just going by a comment someone made. But yeah, please tell anyone who thinks it's okay to talk through gigs etc to shut up.

Talking through gigs is one thing, imagine being in a smallish room with a guest speaker, who is un-amplified - and the whole room can hear "the group" louder than the guest speaker. Constantly. Quite literally, from start to finish.

I may not have been there but I can quite understand the rage!
