Good thread! Thanks for the setlist, as it happened! Sounds like you all had a great night!
Wouldn't have minded doing the whole Cardiff experience (home turf and all that), but I have to say...Wolverhampton was totally immense, so I couldn't possibly want for more!
Thankyou boys - a fantastic gig!

First of a huge hi and cheers to everyone i queued and nattered with,Franny it was great to speak with you dear sir ,also waves and stuff to Joe-Eh/Gina/lass in leopard print coat (sorry i didnt catch yer name )

Awsome stuff !!-as i said to a pal of mine via txt there is sometimes something about a band playing a homecoming gig ( well sort of ),i was impressed by the crowd/band interactiion thing once again even if the addition of an unknown quantity of rugger morons made it unpleasant at times.

Still a fantastic night

Great to finally meet you too Dave, much hilarity in the queue I thought, think you're referring to hanna/harrijack there.

it was very much a homecoming gig, i felt guilty for trespassing.

Just met another forum member as I was getting off the train at Birmingham Didn't quite catch their name as I was rather flustered but she seemed lovely and I'm sorry I didn't get to chat for longer, apparently she was sitting down the opposite end of the coach with Helvissa.

Now on my second of three trains, so arguably doing well so far!

Regards,
Marwood.

It reminded me in ways of the Millennium gig, what with the bouts of Welsh nationalism, Can't Take My Eyes Off You, and pretty much the same JDB quote to go with it (about it relating to bad sporting memories).

Agree that Suicide Is Painless really feels pretty flat in the post-acoustic part of the set, especially with Let Robeson Sing there too, and it was the first time I didn't stay right until the end (due to bus worries and my general ineptness at directional sense), heading out during ADFL, but it was kinda sweet to take one last look back and see whole crowd, having been down the front the whole time - and quite cinematic for the strains of that song to follow me outside as I walked into the post-final carnage in the centre (but to be fair, it all seemed good natured, and many friendly Irish peoples on sharing the bus).

Hopefully I won't be flying solo next time, and also manage to pluck up the courage to speak to more strangers

Thought the gig was absolutely amazing. The many upskirts I saw and the confetti just added to the experience.

Also lovely to meet deadmartyr, franny, Joe-eh and Rooksy (sp?!)!

'Bitch' is my superpower thanks, going ok so far!

I found it delightful, plenty there. Saw some nice arsecrack and I like to think a bit of ballbag too

Marwood.

I think you two guys were next to me...... that blonde was a pain in the a***..... Early on she kept pushing me saying "oh it might be nice being there" (I was on the barrier)... just turned round and said "Yes thank you!"
Later she asked the guy I was with "Can I squeeze in, I'm only small" Answer.. "NO AND YOUR NOT" teehee. Hope you enjoyed the gig

No not at all you were really nice! It was just the whole getting-my-shit-together-cos-I-don't-wanna-miss-my-connection thing that had me flustered, coupled with the fact that you caught me listening to 'Us Against You' with the volume turned right up so even when I pulled my earphones out my ears were buzzing too much to hear you properly!

Regards,
Marwood.
