Have to say it was a top show with some pleasant suprises in the set list, there was plenty of energy onstage which the audience responded to with much enthusiasm-always good when band/crowd lock into the same vibe

Also fab to see Nicky have a bit of a rant-something i have missed greatly

Finally nice to see some familiar faces even if i was too shy to say hello
Dave it was good to see you again and it was a pleasure Enjoy your week off work

Gutted you didn't get to meet James, Tracey. First time I've met them after a gig and I didn't realise just how much ambushing goes on, it was pretty hectic.

Yeah. Felt a wee bit sorry for Nicky when he was up this end, there were folk near me handing stacks of stuff to sign and every time he tried to leave he got called back.

I was just behind you that time and didn't stand a chance, but we got between the two busses this time directly in front of the stage door and Nicky cam over then swapped with James.

Where did Sean get to last night? Did he sign for a bit or go straight to the bus?

I had an amazing time anyway. Qued up for a bit before spotting Lewis, managed to get second row next to Dext which then turned into the barrier with all the pushing and hoo har. Roady at the end gave me a set list which I managed to get signed by James and Nicky and got a picture with them and a Wire hug. Really can't believe how lucky I was. Brilliant setlist, loved acoustic EMG and opening with Stay Beautiful, and Of Walking Abortion of course. Beautiful band. May have inspired a trip to the tattooist this morning...

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention the crowd. Woah. So loud and bouncy, I was very impressed. JDB seemed to get emotional every time he let us sing.

If Amanda would like her hair done, i am happy to give £20 towards it, i might have ruined it with all the barging from people behind me.

Aw, shame. Would have loved to have met him. Can't blame him though, looked like Nicky and James were getting a bit pissed off towards the end. My mum was really impressed with how Nicky was, taking time out for everyone and trying to sign everything, look pretty for pictures. She even had a picture taken with him.

Sorry you didn't get to meet him I've noticed this kind of behaviour after gigs before. We didn't bother hanging around last night, as we had to drive back to Wales, but tbh I'm glad I didn't bother if it was as bad as that. I remember at Leeds on the PFAYM tour last year a group of blokes hogged the barrier that was put in front of the tour bus so hardly anyone else got any time with the band. I just managed to get James to sign my setlist before he went in to the tour bus, but I really wish people would just get ONE thing signed and a quick photo and then let others have a chance. And there is absolutely no need for people to push either. If everyone just acted like rational human beings, all would get their turn. So I don't blame James himself, just selfish fans really.

Wtf?! We had no more than a bit of a cuddle and a peck on the lips before the Manics came on ffs! Sounds like that bloke has had a very sheltered existence

The crowdsurfers during ADFL were rather er, bracing. I had to duck and whacked my knee on the barrier in the process. Stood up and had missed half the bloody song, idiots.

The crushing did get quite bad, especially during ADFL. To be fair to the people behind me, I think they were getting pushed by people behind them, so there probably wasn't much they could have done about it. Manics crowds also seem to have a weird habit of swaying from side to side as well; I swear that never happens quite as much at other bands' gigs!

But that is it now, they need to go away and record this new album they've been talking of. None of this rubbish about another greatest hits, they clearly don't need it after last nights brilliant reception. They are in a good place so they should embrace it, go away for a bit and come back with something exceptional. They did it with Journal for Plague Lovers so they can do it again. The last thing anybody wants is them touring all year then rush-releasing another below-standard album like PFAYM. Take your time boys.
Completely 100% agree with all of this. It was nice to see them on form last night and play a few 'rarer' songs, but I would rather they just disappeared for a while after this tour. I think it might make us all appreciate them a bit more as well tbh (well, it would me anyway).

And now I've replied to all of the above, I will say I enjoyed Wolves a lot more than Llandudno. I don't think I've seen James that up for a gig in a long time and there was a great atmosphere in the crowd too. I think I'd have found it all a bit dull otherwise seen as the setlist was exactly the same as the previous night, but the better atmosphere definitely made up for that. Nicky seemed in good spirits too, although his whole "Are you listening Mr Cameron and Mr Fucking Clegg?!" thing followed by a load of cheers just kind of reminded me a bit of David Mitchell on 10 O'Clock Live getting cheap applause for saying something popularist, but also stating the bloody obvious

So glad I've had a day off today. Tired plus I have an evil cold, although part of me is starting to think I'm getting old

Oh yeah, just remembered Nicky talking about James sending him money when he had a gambling problem in uni, saying he was a great friend. And James introduced Wayne as 'Main Worry'.

I really want there to be a recording of Nicky Wire's "Growing old gracefully" rant.

Sorry about that Was late leaving work and only got to the Civic on time thanks to some well-judged train swapping. You must have been over by the Wire, because I was over by Cheekbones (I always go there in the belief that it's safer than the crush in the middle, but it also means that you spend most of the gig under a speaker and thus increase the likelihood of going home with tinnitus) and didn't recognise anyone over there. To next time, whenever that may be!

Oh, what a gig - "Are you listening Mr Cameron and Mr fucking Clegg?!"
