And guest guitarist Jamie Roberts gets on the score sheet, perfect end for the tour (for both Manics and rugby fans)

Well... not wallabies fans...

Wonder if James' "I don't drink on tour" is now officially out the window...?

Why you are assuming he is drunk? Did I miss anything?

no when he was younger he used to drink right before a gig and be a bit tipsy on stage. He's said he can't do that anymore. Not that he doesn't drink at all ever on a tour.

In that really good interview with Lewis Moody a couple of pages back, James does say no one is allowed to drink before going on stage. Band rule. James had every good reason to have a few after the game though. You couldn't be-grudge him that experience.

The Manics can go back home to Wales feeling very, very pleased with themselves. This mini tour, holiday, break will have done them a power of good. With no disrespect to UK audiences, playing out here has been fantastic. The audiences of both Australia and New Zealand were so desperate to see this band play that we gave them a damn good reception. The band got great media coverage from X Factor and radio interviews in New Zealand, to some good coverage while in Australia from the UK media and sports channels.

Now it's back home and pretty much straight into RTF promotion. The band will be feeling positive, up beat and pretty pleased with themselves. They will have realised that they still have a good strong fanbase, and that we need and love them just as much as before and if not even a little more. It's gone really well. The next 12 months are going to be MSP full. I can't wait.

Agreed So pleased for the band and excited for the future. And I think we UK audiences need to step it up a notch - I thought the same after the US tour. Maybe we will having not had a gig for nearly two years now. Perhaps, though excrutiating, it was what we needed as much as what the band did.
