Cate Le Bon is indeed, wonderful. Mug Museum is a masterpiece. 4 Lonely Roads is good, one of the highlights of the album, but not a masterpiece.

If one cannot enjoy Four Lonely Roads one should open their minds and broaden their horizons. Cate's voice is beautiful and Nicks words while still lacking like most of his internal studies feel more inspired than usual.

Only a insipid forum curmudgeon could not appreciate the genius and beauty of Four Lonely Roads.

He's Cate's boyfriend as well. He has done some very good stuff - worth checking out Black Domino Box and Ghouls EPs.

The problem I have with it is that whilst the lyrics are good they are often undecipherable until her whimsical, kooky, delivery. I have heard much better songs akin to 4LR which have been better. I don't enjoy listening to that kind of genre and personally it doesn't strike me as a particuarly good album track and it would have faired better as a b-side - albeit a shit one.

I didn't notice the Cate Le Bon reference in the article!
I actually like "4 Lonely Roads" and think Cate is

The duets worked brilliantly on RTF and 4 lonely roads was ace too so i'm not worried. Makes sense they're continuing the guest vocals. Europa was totes amazeballs too

I have no problem with the Manics doing duets if the songs themselves are strong. I love Rewind the Film and This Sullen Welsh Heart, and Nina Hoss sounds great on Europa. However, I find 4 Lonely Roads musically one of the weakest tracks on RTF and don't like the way Cate Le Bon's vocals are mixed...you can barely tell what she's singing.

Bit late, been at work and only seen Futurolgy related stuff at midnight in bed last night and on twatter earlier on today.

If the rest of the album is to go by the songs we've heard in recent weeks, then that'll be grand.

Great news about the Futurology release, looking forward to it and a potential tour post-festival season.

Look forward to seeing you in the queues/hotels!

I'm not that fussed on 4LR but the BBC performance is very nice.

RTF is cack though overall.

BTW is anyone getting the t-shirt edition? The artwork doesn't really grab me but I'm tempted.

Got the black tee with the vinyl and the white tee with the special edition CD. Just a shame they're not offering a bundle with the regular CD really, cos then I could've got an extra tee to actually wear.
