I'm a quasi-introverted timetraveller who's heard the album already. It is their masterpiece so look forward to it.

Well yeah... I sort of meant the spirit of GT rather than the production.

Shit?

Dunno what to make of it though...love In Utero and the sound, but if they wanted a basic recording of their work with some beefing up I'm sure other producers could do it too.

I dunno if he's necessarily the best person to make the album sound "big" but I like the idea of him working with the Manics. He's always associated with the Pixies and Nirvana but if you look at the vast array of bands he works with every year it's not impossible that he could bash out an album with them..

Despite it's bad production - generation terrorists is my favourite album! Yes they were young when they made it and yes it's not a perfect album but in my eyes it's the best thing they've ever done and I'm a little sad I was only 2 when it came out!

Getting him to produce a band like MSP, who at the end of the day are playing pretty standard sounding 'rock' seems like a waste of time, when most other decent producers would suffice just as well, and Albini could put his efforts into producing bands that more suit his style.

Albini did suit In Utero because it was a raw sounding album (it's kinda like a heavily toned down Big Black album or something). MSP totally aren't gonna follow up 2 polished-stadium-rock albums with a gritty grunge album.
manics already made a gritty ,raw, dirty album that ripped off In Utero.....

i'd like to hear something Quadraphenia/Who's next - ish like Heyday of our Blood
