Watch the Millenium Masses, and then the performance from Reading last year. Such a difference.
Dont get me started on the Naysmith performances...

Without a doubt it's Masses. Replacing the guitar with that circus-like organ riff if just laughable. Other than that I think their songs are pretty good live when you're there...listening back to them is an entirely different story though.

no surface all feeling
the piano is no substitute for james' les paul (although on the last tour james did play the main riff before the first verse himself which was awsome)

Didn't see them on the LB tour, but the live performance of TLORN I heard was pretty poor

La Tristesse Durera - Doesn't and has never sounded right live.

Er...i think that is it? Everything else sounds good live, even the shit songs.
I`m with you with that mate.
`From despair to where` seems a much better track from that era.
They are to me, no variation in song styles, a greatest hits tour band who charge the same prices for the usual big bands (albeit many bands can be to blame for this), who really don't have the energy live anymore. That's just my opinion though.

Did you see them at the `Astoria gig` in 2007, That had fuckin energy.

i blame the fact James 'sings' songs like Masses, rather than shouts them.

Does he sing 'Masses'? It always sounds shouty to me, but there you go!

well i'm using last years reading performance as the example, it just seems flat and could be a lot more shouty

Very much agree with a few others that Tolerate is played too fast and that Masses isn't as good live as you might expect it to be.

Apart from that, I've nothing to complain about.

Faster was slow last time round but why not do that for a bit...it's played on almost every tour.

They could've just played something else, instead of butcher it.

(okay, it wasnt butchered, not as good as when it's, well, faster)
