2007. Had always liked them but not enough to go see them. I got really into them that year though.

Agree. The Christmas 94 gigs had an amzing atmosphere. So tense yet thrilling. it really did feel like the end of something.

*raises hand*

This Is My Truth was the first Manics album I heard, but Know Your Enemy was the first Manics album I loved. I didn't see them until 2002, though, because I live in America, and the gig in Sweden in the fall of 2001 that I was going to fly over and see with my first ever Manics buddy was cancelled after 9/11.

First time i saw them was 2001 Glasgow Barrowlands 3rd April. Such a loud and intense gig, even though i spent the whole gig at the back. The crowd just looked dangerous, but then again that could've been because it was my first ever gig experience.

It's actually the only album by them my brother will voluntarily listen to, so it does have the power to convert some!

Great to share memories! I was a few feet from Nicky and can still vividly picture him sipping his Ribeena.

It was my first gig so I thought being on the verge of suffocation was a normal thing until the friend I went with, who'd been to lots, told me how extreme he thought it had been. Any mosh I've been in since has been a breeze.

They were really riding a wave at the time and were a far bigger band than when they started the tour, so I wouldn't be surprised if whoever was in charge took advantage of that.

I felt horribly new to the whole thing seeing them first in 2002. I didn't even know From Despair to Where when they played it - god knows how people must feel now!

Still, not many of us had the net 24 hours a day, and we certainly didn't have YouTube... *grumbles*

Was a bit scary with all these gals in their combats and feather boas! Was a great first gig though. Fond memories!

My first gig was in Dundee in 1998. A few days before my 21st birthday.

Yes, I'm old, I know

First got into them at school though in the GT era.

EMG Tour - Rivermead, Reading - 1997. George dragged me along; it was amazing. I didn't join him in the mosh though which is perhaps just as well (his glasses got trashed!)

Oh he does, believe me I think Ben & Snoo have witnessed this too. We arrive at a gig and off he goes - we meet up at the end
