What I don't understand most about this thread is how Ghost of Christmas (y'know, the actual Manics Christmas song...) isn't an option.

Personally don't think this would work. There are more people out there that will by X Factor single than there are Manics fans now and there will be a thousand and one similar groups on facebook following Rage getting to number one last year. I would rather the Manics get a number one any other week of the year with a new song that merits it.

That's already been covered on this thread. It's not available on iTurnes and people wouldn't like paying for something they could originally get for free.

if this was going to work, you'd have to have "other", as in Patrick Bateman or Yes. anything with imagery that the Daily Mail would see as foul, obscene, anti-Christian and, well, anti-Daily Mail. that way you would get lots and lots of people buying it because The Daily Mail said that you should not.
