Haha definitely

Back on topic...I've never really bothered with the AM's apart from their first album, but they are looking very cool at the moment.

Oh, right, thanks. I never saw that article originally.

Ah okay. So Nicky just changed his mind about the wrong band then. Why couldn't it have been The Strokes he admitted he was wrong about? Bastard

lol, Editors. Coldplay meets Joy Division via the shittest song of all time ('Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors'). Hopefully they'll be dead within the year

Editors are a contrived bastard child of Snow Patrol, Joy Division and Coldplay, and they have become quite shit, but I wouldn't wish death up on them - Chris is a nice chap.
At least they aren't White Lies. Now there's a bunch of pretentious twats, forcing out drivel for people who don't like music.

The sooner we all realise that Arctic Monkeys are evolving more and more with every album, into a fine band who make fantastic music and who will be making fantastic music for some time yet, the better.

Saw them live the other day too, was one of the best gigs I’ve been to all year. They really have become a great live act.

I bet most people dissing them here haven't even listened to Suck It And See... Listen to it. Even Wire can admit it's fantastic!

This. A million times this.
The vast majority of people who slate them tend to be the ignorant sort who either:
a) Equate popular with being bad
b) Still think of them of a twangy landfill indie band from 2006.

They are indeed evolving into one a fine British rock and roll band, and excellent live too.

I like Editors and White Lies (and Coldplay too)

I don't like Arctic Monkeys at all (a lot thanks to Turner's voice) but I still find them interesting to follow from the sidelines thanks to their desire to evolve and try out new things.

That said, the same thing* goes for Editors as well, based on the switch flick on In This Light anyway; we'll see if the hypothesis stands when album #4 sees the light of day. I wouldn't really cast them out of that special club yet.

*with the exception that I actually enjoy Editors

Not at all Deets. I admit that I don't mind Editors, in small doses.
