From "Motorcycle Emptiness"

Survival's natural as sorrow

Under neon loneliness, motorcycle emptiness

To be fair I just love Ocean Spray. It's a lovely tribute for James to write to his mum.

Solitude sometimes is the place that I would like to live

It's what you forget, what you forget that kills you
It's what you remember, what you remember that makes you

"You weathered the storm, but sheltered the loss" Very profound.

"And on the streets tonight, an old man prays, with news paper cuttings of his glory days"

"I never want to dream; it infilitrates beauty" - I tend to struggle to fall asleep and when I do I often have really vivid dreams that seem so real I feel confused or upset when I wake up sometimes. I always feel a lot better if I don't dream (but that seems to be a very rare occurrence ). I also really like "sleep can't hide the thoughts splitting through my mind" and "morning always seems too stale to justify" for similar reasons.

"Solitude sometimes is the place where I would like to live"

"All I want to do is live, no matter how miserable it is"

"Libraries gave us power"

"When did life start accelerating?"

"The happier I am when I'm with you, the harder it gets when I am alone" - not a particularly brilliant lyric in comparison to a lot of others, but I could really relate to this at times over the last couple of months as my boyfriend and I got a lot closer.

I have no idea why I love this line so much, or why it makes me feel so happy. I interpret it as a moment of epiphany, which is probably not what it was meant to be.
Haha not just me then? I find the entire song just so uplifting, in fact I feel the same why about much of THB. If almost anyone else had put those lyrics to music then that album would have been just as depressing and self pitying as many people claim. But James just makes it so fucking defiant! I love the raging against the dying of the light thing that that album has.
