Did anyone else see James before the gig? He was wearing his red short-sleeved top with the white piping on it. We were Nicky side, but just by the speakers, so we could see round to the backstage door. James appeared coming down the steps of the stage carrying A PLATE OF CHIPS and gave them to the (actually not that awesome) DJ. The DJ did a huge thumbs up which, let's face it, we all would do if James suddenly materialised bearing a plate of nosh. Then Jimbo went to speak to a couple of people who were at the barrier round the corner. It was fab.

I could've done without the GIGANTIC BELL-END stood next to me who had the world's biggest SLR camera. Every time I moved that fucking camera was bashing me on the bonce. A few times I turned my head to look at the stage-side screen and just saw that GIANT FUCKING CAMERA. When James went and took a bite out of something, I said to Contraries, "What's he eating?" and DAvid fucking Bailey there said "WHAT???" like I'd said something to him. He's lucky I didn't speak to him. Because the sentence "I'd love to stamp on that fucking camera and shove the razorsharp shards up your arse" would've been first choice.

Oh and also, could've done without the girl who stood behind me and Contraries and then - how odd - ended up pushing through to the front, thus moving me one person further away from Nicky than I was. I did however see BULGE in the white pants during the various upskirts moments.

Also, Nicky was doing high-leg kicks at James, forcing him to view the upskirts (James wasn't exactly looking away either) and Nicky nearly kicked him in the head. AWESOME.

Nice to meet people too afterwards: Deadmartyr, Franny, Rookesy, Joe-Eh, and then we saw Marwood on the train!

We waited for a cab under the awning outside the Ibis hotel behind the arena - took about an hour to get a cab so it was 12.15am by the time we left, in which time we'd seen a couple of sleek cars with blacked out windows driving off. Presumably the band.

The Joy Formidable tweeted that they got back to London by dawn, so I dunno if that means they stayed for the partaaay or not.

ANYWAY it was a fab gig!!! Really, really enjoyed it! It was worth the travel, the crap B&B (which is now ringing me at home saying I haven't paid them... that pube in the shower wasn't mine and guess what.. I did pay their bloody over-inflated price for the worst B&B in Cardiff! It was like Fawlty Towers!).

Oh and also - The Joy Formidable WERE ABSOLUTELY BLOODY AMAZING! I think they have the potential to be completely huge. The last song where they nearly trashed the stage (the bassist threw a drum across the stage) was just AWESOME.

Plus their album is great.

And when I spoke to the singer/guitarist at Llandudno, she was absolutely adorable and lovely.

Yeah we sang a song for Franny: "The Ballad of the Cardiff B&B". "That's not my pube in the shower / This place is worse than Fawlty Towers."

Helvissa - were you at Suede on Thursday? I think I pushed past you looking for the exit after managing to convince myself that it would take over an hour to get to Victoria and recognised you from seeing you after the Llandudno gig (and then again at Cardiff).

I enjoyed Cardiff a lot - haven't quite woken up enough yet to have any deeper thoughts than that!

Yes, I was! I did Manics Wednesday, Suede Thursday and Manics Saturday!

What do you look like? I dunno? I had red hair in bunches and a black T-shirt featuring a woman in a girdle on it!

Yay for being recognised! It's nice to be famous, must be the jacket. Sorry I didn't get to say hello!

On the final leg of my journey now. My old man knees ache like hell, and I'm sat next to one of those air-head, mouth-breather, meathead fucking cunty bollockheads who feel the need to sit with their legs spread as far apart as possible. Put your knees together dammit!

Regards,
Marwood.

On reflection, I do like that there are four 'something-heads' in that sentence It's a nice bit of repetition like what Stewart Lee might do if he was wiped out by a mental gig and 21 hours of train travel in a 50 hour period... and also if he was significantly less clever or talented

Regards,
Marwood.
